WORTH IT$9,000
Funny enough the most flack I had for having small breasts growing up came from my family rather than my friends. I was always teased and felt self conscious that my breast would never “blossom” to a “socially acceptable size” (anything larger than a b-cup). I was feeling quite embarrassed as an adult woman that I could still fit into training bra’s for girls in middle school. I was so self conscious that I always wore padded bras to get that extra ummph but when the bra came off so went my confidence.
Growing up I always wrestled with the idea of getting breast enlargement surgery but felt that I may be discriminated against because I would be putting something “fake” into my body. I tried everything throughout the years hoping it would increase my best side (i.e. gaining weight, taking breast enlargement pills, exercising, taking birth control, praying etc…) NOTHING was working. The largest I think I got up to was a 32 C by taking a birth control pill that is now off the market because it’s been known to create blood clots. Anyways after 30 years on this beautiful earth I decided that it was time to forget what all the naysayers believe and finally do what would make me happy. I did my research and found Dr. Jugenberg at Toronto Cosmetic Surgery. He was listed as the best and specialized in the type of surgery I wanted to get.
Before my consultation I was petrified of going through the surgery and end up having the dreaded Tory Spelling or Vivica Fox rippling boobs (google to see the pics of these women). I had several consultations with the nurses and found the staff to be extremely helpful. They eased my fears and encouraged me to ask any questions I had about the procedure 24/7. Kim is such an amazing and patient nurse and she played a large factor in helping me make my decision. I decided that I would like to be a large C or small D and did a size fitting in the office with Kim. I was surprised how natural the large sized implants looked, but decided to play it safe and going for a 420cc (I believe that was the size). The days leading up to my surgery I was watching Youtube videos of women who had surgery and there experience.
The day of the surgery I was excited, but nervous of the unexpected. I went into their office early to try the sizes again because I was having second thoughts about the size I tried. The staff was amazing and allowed me to try the sizes again. Several staff members shared their personal story of their own B.augmentation with me as well – which eased my fears hearing their story. Upon hearing their story and seeing their size wasn’t as large as I thought I decided to get 500cc. When I met with Dr. J he told me his honest opinion (which I appreciated because I didn’t want to leave looking like a [RS bleep] star) and indicated that due to my size I would not be able to go that large and still do trans –ax. I wanted trans-ax to avoid scaring and possible keloids so I decided to stick with my original decision of 420cc and I was very pleased. They gave me a drug cocktail before surgery as per usual and surgery was a success.
When I came out of surgery I was EXTREEMLY sore, ladies make sure you have someone to support you. I am SO HAPPY that the staff had the hotel room for my partner and I to stay in because I could barely move afterwards. I had to have a wheelchair to help me out of the facility. I think because of my small size healing took a little longer than the 1 week that everyone raves about…I went back to work closer to 2 weeks later. My breasts started to feel “normal” after 3 months . Initially they sit very high on your chest and look very round. It’s good to do your daily massages to increase the speed of recovery.
I am now 4 months post-op and feel great, I still have a little tightening in my arm which is normal but am very happy with MY decision. I can now say that I am no longer a member of itty bitty [RS bleep] club and am able to fit into a 32DD or 32DDD. What I love is that although I am in the D-CUP family, I look natural and have that large C-Cup look.
This is my first review and I hope this help someone who is battling with the idea of whether to have surgery or not.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us on RealSelf! I have heard other women mention that 2 weeks is needed for recovery so thank you for mentioning this. Hope your family has been supportive and that you're enjoying your new confidence!
If you see any other members that are taking longer with their healing progress, feel free to send them to your review. I'll be sure to do the same as it can be disappointing for a struggling BA patient to read about the patients who are going out to dinner and shopping the night after their surgery!
