WORTH IT$6,500
Its been almost 4 years and I am still down over 100lbs. I have gained 10 in the last few months, but am working hard to get it off. I am still happy with everything and now looking into plastics. Thats is way more overwhelming :(

Progress pictures

Nothing much to update, just putting up some pictures. I am now in the process of searching for the right plastic surgeon to do a lower body lift, inner thigh lift and a breast lift with possible implants. I honestly never thought any of this would even be possible. However all this PS stuff gives me a headache.

It's so good to see such a brilliant success story. You look like a whole new woman, what a truly inspiring transformation! And roller derby looks like a lot of fun. Good luck with your body lift, I don't know where you are in the country. It if you look for a user called My Bariatric Life, she has had all those things done and the results were brilliant. Her surgeon is in NJ if I remember right. Keep in touch please!
Thanks!! I will look for her. I am in northern Alberta, Canada. I have a referral sent to a Dr in Edmonton, but it can take 6 -12 months to get in for a consult :( He's a good Dr, but the procedures are so much more $ in Canada and the US, compared to Mexico. But I may be lucky and have some of it covered by our provincial health care because I have lost so much. That should help bring the cost down a little, and may work out to be the same as going down south by the time flights and hotels are paid for. We will wait and see. I had to by a new much smaller strapless bra today, and I had to buy those boob lifting cutlet things to help fill it out, lmao. I don't even think I had to stuff my bra in jr high, lol. My husband is not impressed with that aspect of my weight loss, haha
you look great. im looking into getting it done. just so nervous.
worried that I will need plastic surgery but not sure I can afford it. MY sleeve surgery is scheduled for January 30th. You look wonderful!!!
Amazing! Congradulations! W/being about a year post op how are your cravings, is your stomach still only able to handle small amounts of food or do you notice w/time you can eat more n more?? TIA
I recommend Dr. Luis Fernandez-Goico! Here's here on RealSelf, and he's amazing! He's in the Dominican Republic, and his number is 809-801-7900. He uses WhatsApp too, which is a free messaging app, if you've never heard of it. =) Good luck! You look fabulous!

I called a year ago to start asking questions...

I called a year ago to start asking questions about a gastric plication. But after talking with the woman on the phone, it was recommended that I get the gastric sleeve done. If I would of been ready they could of done me with in the next month. I had to wait because there were 3 of us total going down and I had to wait for my Christmas break. Everything was great from start to finish. I got all my questions answered, I got to speak with the dietician and Drs before my surgery, and again after. There was a small language barrier with some of the staff, but for the most part it was super easy. I knew a few people who had gone to him previously and they were all extremely happy. My follow up questions were answered when I had them. The scars are small and thin and look pretty damn good, better then the ones I got after from my gall bladder surgery. Their program covered everything besides my flights and they were under $400 return from Edmonton, Ab. They covered transportation to and from the airport in San Diego and to and from the hotel to the clinic in Tijuana. I am currently down 102 lbs and am so so so so happy that I did this. I highly recommend Dr. Ortiz and the Obesity Control Center. Since we have came back, I know of 4 other people that have gone because we had such a great experience. I gave 8-20 more lbs to lose depending on what I am happy at. I am now looking into getting some plastic surgery done to remove the extra nasty skin from my stomach aswell as a thigh lift and maybe breast lift with implants.

Welcome and thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Congratulations on your weight loss, that's a huge achievement and you've done so well! How did you find the recovery period, pain and downtime? I found the recovery period a lot harder than I imagined it to be, but that was due to a hernia.
Hi Kristy, I didnt find the recover period very hard at all. I came home and was pretty much back to life. I tried not to lift my 1.5 year old to much, but he didnt always co-operate. Other then that it was a pretty good recovery experience. The worst was the gas pains actually, thats about it :)
The gas pains can be killer! Walking helps but it just takes time. :-) Sounds like everything went pretty smoothly for you though, which is awesome!

We'd love to see a before/after photo, if you have any you feel comfortable sharing.
Sure, how do I do that? Lol
Looks like you figured it out! You look awesome, you've done so well!
Hi - noticed you are in Edmonton - I am on east coast and since I am self-pay I am going to look out-of-country - thank you for the information above - I am going to reach out to the Dr.
Did you consider doing plication? I am also looking at using Dr. Ortiz and I am having a hard time deciding if I should do the sleeve or plication. Congrats on your success - AMAZING!
