low bmi #27 sleeve - Mexico

Im All Over The Place
$5,000
Last I posted I was considering the RNYBP. Yeah, not so much anymore. After plenty more research... malnutrition is apparently a big risk factor. Especially, with me being a low-bmi patient. Ta' hell with that. So, Im back to seriously considering the VSG. Still have not settled on a surgeon. I thought I had but communication is key to me. So, enough said. Any suggestions on ROCK STAR surgeons in Tijuana, MX? Bring em on :) Im really wanting to get this done between January - March 2017. Thanks in advance for your support and feedback. I value each of you. Ciao for now.

Think Im Gonna Do It (RNYBP)
As stated above I am a LOW BMI #27 that is seriously considering preventative bariatric surgery. I have spoken to my doctor of choice and I am almost 90% sure that Im gonna do it. Ive decided on the RNYBP because it completely eliminates GERD and my chances of developing Diabetes. Shooting for the beginning of 2017.

Honestly, I would not have someone operate on me who was willing to do it at your bmi. Perhaps some counseling would help? It sounds like you might have some body issues going on. That's just imho, looking out for you.

I too have a low BMI of 29...however, I have HBP and a family history of obesity with diabetes & heart disease. Please keep posts as how your doing. I'm looking into having the sleeve done as I'm constantly going up and down with weight and tired of worrying about it. Best of luck

Update: Change In Plans
Well, because I already experince Acid Reflux the doctor is advising against the Sleeve because of GERD. He's suggesting OAGBP which is $5000 more. Think Im going to press pause and do a little more research and soul searching.

I had GERD. I got the sleeve done and later a repair of a hiatal hernia. (If the hernia had made itself known before surgery, they could've fixed it at the same time). After having the partial Dor fundoplication procedure, I have had absolutely zero problems with GERD and have been able to come off my medication for it.

If your dr will do sleeve on you with just 27 BMI you need to ask some good doctors. Perhaps investing your time in diet and exercise would be better spent. Surgery can wait for someone like you

I'd personally do everything within my power to try to lose weight before going under the knife and forking out 5 grand. You're not that overweight. Have you read all the issues that ( can) arise after gastric surgery? My cousin had it done. She has a very difficult time absorbing vitamins. Her hair has thinned tremendously. I believe it's also not advised if you're planning to have children. A little exercise and cutting a hundred or so calories a day may be all you need.

Hello guys. Wow! I kinda checked out for a minute LOL Thank you ALL for your comments. I am grateful for all of the feedback. My biggest concern is long term weight management. Diets are way too difficult for me because I also suffer IBS and everything that you should eat to help you lose weight are triggers for IBS episodes. However, my diet is actually pretty healthy as I am a pescatarian. Moderate exercise/activity aggravates my previously injured back. Needless to say Im often left feeling hopeless. So, I have to do something because Im not getting any younger and I do NOT want to suffer through obesity like most of the women in my family. The way I see it is that Im investing in preventative care from: GERD, obesity, diabetes and hypertension.
