Multiple Procedure with Juan Fuentes at Cosmed. Tijuana, MX

Not Recommended for Rhinoplasty

In 2013 I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Fuentes. I appreciated the clinic and Dr. Fuentes' demeanor. However, the results of my rhinoplasty and alarplasty were mediocre at best. I have obvious alarplasty scarring, and my nostrils are incredibly asymmetrical. I am now looking into a revision to correct this. I regret not saving my money and going to an expert.

In September of 2013 I had a revision rhinoplasty...
In September of 2013 I had a revision rhinoplasty (to fix another surgeon's mistakes) with Juan Carlos Fuentes. He took cartilage from my ear to build up the tip, added perlane to the bridge and he made the nose only slightly less wide. I returned December 2013 for an alarplasty, which is reduction in the width of the nose. I am to this day very pleased with my results. There is some very slight asymmetry, but I like the overall look.
In June 2014 I returned for an upper lip lift, and again, I am pleased with the results. My upper lip has been shortened and it looks very natural. I have a feminine curve in my lip and I look less harsh. I have a slight scar beneath my nose but I am pleased with the results. This surgery did slightly change the shape of one nostril but I have opted to not correct it with any further nose surgeries.
I am returning in December to have Perlane injections to lift my cheeks and give me that fullness I love. I had cheek implants years ago from another doctor and one implant needed to be removed due to infection. I am getting injections to even out my face a bit.
Dr. Fuentes has been patient with me during all my questions. His results are very beautiful and natural. No one knows I have had surgery, they just think I was blessed with great genetics.
I would recommend him for facial procedures over any doctor in Los Angeles. I actually opted for Dr. Fuentes over a well-known LA surgeon and I do not regret that decision. I cannot speak for any of the other surgeons at Cosmed-I only see Fuentes.

I will also be going to surgery with Dr. Fuentes && reading your review re assured me I made a good choice! I'm going from the states can you tell me how your traveling was, they informed me I could get a free round trip for them to pick me up from the border and drop me back off? is that something that was offered to you if so how did it go? I would love to hear more about your experience!
I lived in California at the time (LA) and made the 4 hour trek there driving. I had no problem making this trip due to Dr. Fuentes' skill level. I parked at the border station in San Ysidro CA and arranged to be picked up and dropped off (it is free of charge if having surgery with them). If you are not having surgery and some other procedure there is a fee for pick up and drop off. I prefer being picked up and dropped off because after surgery or a procedure a few times I felt very much exhausted or was in some slight pain. The alarplasty for example gave me a headache due to the trauma done to the nose to make it smaller. You may share the car with another patient if being picked up or dropped off, but the other patients are generally nice. Tijuana btw, is not half as bad as everyone told me. When I got there it felt like I was still in California. When I travel to TJ I only visit Cosmed and I come home, so perhaps I am not the best judge of the city itself. My experiences have been good with the clinic and with the doctor.
Oh i see, well yeah I'm about the same distance I'm located in Ontario CA so about 2-3 hr drive. can you give me more info about the place you left you car i just want to make sure my car is safe there. I will be having the procedure with him in Nov. and want to have everything set. my mom and bf will be coming with me, do you know if they would mind to pick them up with me as well? Also once surgery was over how much longer were you there or able to leave? sorry about all the questions by the way! lol Ive gone to TJ before but just straight to the airport, but you are right it is not as bad or bad at all. I really appreciate your help especially knowing you went to the person I'm going to (:
I do not know if it would be no cost to people traveling with you or not. I think to be safe to ask Cosmed so I don't give you wrong info. I've always traveled alone. After my rhinoplasty I stayed in their recovery boutique. After the smaller procedures that required only local sedation, I left the same day-within 2 hours. I have actually never had an issue leaving my car at the San Ysidro border station. I never noticed any shady people hanging around or anything of the sort. It isn't free to park there, I would recommend bringing cash to park (up to $20ish per day).

I'm glad to hear this went well for you! Thank you for sharing! What has your recovery been like?
My recovery was a breeze. I had literally no pain even after the surgery. I just felt a little pressure in my nose area. It actually looked far more painful than it really was (I had a bandage that was slightly bloody).
Can you please post before and after pictures? I'm seriously considering him! Also did you go home and remove the splint yourself, i thought I read that you didn't stay more than 2 hours before you went home.
Also is $2,300 the total price or was it just the surgeon price? If so how much was it with hospital and anesthesia fees?
I spent roughly $2,300 for just my nose. That I believe was just his fee. Please to be sure to ask his fees because they may have changed. The other procedures were separate prices. Cosmed has grown in popularity.
