Day 5 post op
I am on my way to recovery! I went to a seamstress today to get my garment altered because it was too loose. I anticipate needing to do it one more time before my 3 weeks, after that my ps says I won't need to wear it 24/7. My energy level is much better today and I'm able to move around and be more self sufficient. Granted, I get very tired easily and walkinb up the stairs takes it out of me, but that is just because of the anesthetic. My symptoms right now are just swelling in random places. My wrist where my Iv was is very tender and the garment has causes some swelling in my wrists. Also, I have a cramp in my feet which I think is due to the same. When I look at my body I'm not exactly excited but I do see significant chages. I'm trying to not fixate on how I look because I still have swelling that needs to go down. I'd say I see about a 65% improvement. Still some parts of my love handles that are kinda prominent, and my upper back is still kinda big. I just want to heel and then see myself and be happy with the results. Overall, I'm in good spirits. I will post pics soon, promise. Just trying to keep my garment on 24/7
Miserable in compression garment
So it's early Friday morning, like 2am early. I had my surgery Monday morning under general anesethic. Before I got on a plane today I saw my ps and he said he is extremely please with the results of my surgery and said my skins elasticity is better then anyone's he's seen. He said my compression garment could be tighter and suggested to get it taken it by a seamstress because it's a leotard that I spent a lot of money on. The problem is, I am miserable in my garment. It's so tight that it pains me. I can't sleep because my gut is squished so tight, that sometimes it's hard to take a breathe. He said this is key to my recovery and having the skin tighten. I am still swollen and I'm sure everyday the swelling goes down, but I'm still miserable. Not sure what to do. It hasn't even been a week and I've got 2 more weeks to go wearing the garment 24/7. Suggestions/advice please. I need to have a garment for my waiste and my arms. My arms need a lot more tightening.
