So I had sx with Dr. Altamirano Thursday April 21, 2016 around 4pm in Tijuana Mexico at hospital Guadalajara. The doctor said all my organs looked great and that my liver wasn't fatty and in the way. Leak test was negative no leaks. The first day is the worst the gas pains are worse than labor to me. I'm still in the hospital I leave Saturday. I have all my meds the Doctors assistant went to the pharmacy to fill them for me. So far so good

Hello all. I'm finally ready to have the gastric sleeve. I've been wanting to do this for some time now but the circumstances were never quite right. Now I'm all ready to go. I've chosen to have my VSG with Dr. Carlos Altamirano in Tijuana Mexico at Guadalajara hospital. I chose to go to Mexico because the healthcare system in America is a joke. As a RN I've seen several instances were patients were made to jump through hoops to have insurance approval for well needed services. So to bypass all that non sense I began researching an alternative. So one day about 2 years ago I googled Bariatric Surgery in Mexico. I had the forethought to do this b/c I had heard of girls going out of the country for cosmetics so I figured it was worth a shot. I initially stumbled across Mexico Bariatric Center and was going to go with a surgeon named Dr. Valenzuela. I didn't go through with my initial plans due to still being in nsg school and I had a small child so I decided to push it back. While pushing the sx back I was somehow added to another sx group on Facebook by Dr. Altamirano (Dr.A). I began to read post of several success stories and also was impressed by the fact that the surgeon (Dr.A) was very personable and easy to get a hold of. He has a Skype session with all his patients and you're able to book directly with him. He had had no leaks so far and I've been following him almost 2 years. Everyone is pleased with his work and if you happen to have any issues afterwards he doesn't just dismiss and ignore you. I have all of my zx paid but 1,400. I'm hoping to lose about 20 lbs to get my bmi down low enough where I don't have to pay an additional $500. My flight is booked and I'm super excited. I plan on having plastics afterwards.
