One month post op and pictures (yikes)

At long last (with the help of my daughter) I have photos to post.
My stats pre-surgery were...56 years old...5'2"...160 pounds. I lost 65 pounds and kept it off for just over a year before surgery.
My stats post surgery are...(same age and height) ...150 pounds.
Went from a size 14 in pants to a size 10 and from a 40DD to a 38C in bra.
I am still really swollen around my belly button area. And I still have one spot on my right breast that is being slow to heal. But I feel great. I am still in contact with Dr. Rodriguez as I send him weekly photos and he advises me on what to do. The new protocol that we are using on my breast wound is working well and he hopes in another couple of weeks it will be all closed up! I am in no pain, but I will say that as my back heals from the lipo it itches like crazy!! Sometimes at night it drives me nuts!! LOL I am having weekly lymphatic massages and those are heavenly !! I went back to work on day 18 post op and have not been having any issues with that. I do have a desk job, so nothing strenuous.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I will post another photo update at the two month mark.

Getting on with the healing process

Today I am officially 8 days post op from my original surgery. Even after a set back at day 4, I am coming along nicely in my healing now. Pain is now being managed with oral meds and today my system finally woke up and I went to the bathroom! I don't I have ever been so happy over a bowel movement!! Later this afternoon I will have a follow up appointment with Dr R. My hope is that he is going to say everything looks great. I will post some pics once I am home and have my computer for making them tasteful. I know that over the next year I have to consider my body a work in progress. Nothing right now is how it will be in a year. The waiting is hard. But I went into this with no illusions. This too shall pass and I am confident in my recovery. Good luck to everyone making their plans now. God speed!

When you know you picked the right doctor!

On day 4 pre op, my doctor had a bad feeling about my swelling. He sent me back to the hospital and then talked to me at length. He told me that it might be nothing but his gut was telling him something was wrong. My drains kept getting clogged and the consistency of the fluid worried him. He asked if I would allow him to reopen my incision and make sure. I said of course! I trust him to do what's best for me. As it turned out, he was right. My abdomen was full of blood clots ! He cleaned everything and gave me a blood transfusion. That was yesterday and today I feel much better. The nurses at the recovery house are watching over me with love and care. All surgery has the risk of complications, but I am so glad I went with Dr Rodriguez. He comforted me during a scary situation and went that extra mile to make sure I was going to be fine. Today I am resting comfortably at Casa del Angel and feeling grateful.

Dr R was kind and thorough. He was very realistic with me as to what results I could expect. He is a warm and friendly doctor. I had a complication during my surgery which required me to get a blood transfusion. The professionalism shown by the doctor and all the staff was amazing. So glad I chose Dr Rodriguez!
