Biggest Mistake of My Life
Before my breast augmentation, I was a size B cup. Going in to my consultation, I made it very clear to Dr. Gutierrez that I wanted bigger breasts that better fit my frame, but I wanted to make sure they looked natural and weren’t too big. He assured me that he could deliver the results I wanted, making sure my breasts looked natural and didn’t stick out from my frame. During the consultation, we agreed on 550 cc implants above the muscle for a more natural look. In addition to my breast augmentation, I also wanted a rhinoplasty, where I wanted my nose to be straightened out and have my hump removed. On the day of the surgery, I showed the doctor some pictures of some examples of how I wanted my breasts to look. He told me he believed that in order for me to get bigger breasts that fit with my frame, I had to go up to 600 ccs. He believed that since I had a larger frame, 550 ccs wouldn’t make such a difference on me and I wouldn’t be happy with the outcome. I was a bit skeptical on going that big, but I trusted him and we decided to continue with the 600 ccs. That was such a mistake. Since my breasts were only a small B cup before, the 600 cc implants brought me up to a DDD cup. My breasts were stretched out so much that I’m left with huge stretch marks all over and I lost sensation in both breasts. In addition to that, my right breast bottomed out a few months after the surgery because of the weight and placement of the implant and my left breast developed capsular contracture. When I brought this up to the doctor, he tried to tell me that my right breast was fine and wasn’t bottomed out, which was clearly a lie. As far as the capsular contracture, he told me that before he did surgery to correct the contracture, he wanted me to take some medicine he prescribed and to go back to him for 3 months to try to keep breaking the capsule. He said if this didn’t work, then he would do the surgery to remove the contracture and put that SAME implant back in. Wow. This is unprofessional and unethical in so many ways. He was clearly not wanting to go back to fix these problems and wanted the easy way out. I’m now left with a lot of regret and wish that I would’ve just came to a doctor here in the U.S., because that would’ve saved me a lot of time and suffering. I now have to spend a lot more money to fix these problems and will have to get a breast lift that will leave me with unnecessary scars. As far as my nose goes, although he removed the bump, my nose is clearly still very crooked. What a disappointment.
