I traveled all they way to NYC from Miami for an in office procedure. I called ahead to inform the front desk office that I was running behind due to a delay from the airport which was out of my control. They agree to accommodate me but when I got outside they inform me that if I didn’t pay the remaining balance that I could not come inside the office. Mind you I’m coming from Miami to NYC and have never experienced a winter and I was left outside in 20 degree weather to freeze. I informed them that I was very cold and needed to come inside to pay and will not stand outside providing my credit card information over the phone to a Physician that I have not met or complete an consultation with. After voicing my frustration Dr. Mir came downstairs and proceeded to speak to me through the door. I told her this was no way to treat a patient traveling out of town to see you and to be demanded to pay outside before I can come inside the office. She stated “I think you should leave” and proceeded to go back upstairs. She knew I came out of town , paid an $800 deposit and just left me outside as if I was trash. Why would I pay $800 If I wasn’t going to pay for the rest of the procedure these people lack common sense and professionalism. I tried to go with her even after reading the bad reviews about her. Then the staff lied on me and stated that I threatened them. Terrible unethical organization!

Dear Angela,

We have such a different recollection of the days and weeks that led to your appointment.

The day of the appointment also unfolded differently than you described in your review. We called you over the weekend to see if you were coming. And Instead of flying in the night before your appointment. You decided to fly out the morning of the procedure,, and you MISSED YOUR MORNING FLIGHT. That being said, we told you we would still accommodate you.

You are accurate in that when you arrived we did not let you into the office. It is because there was another person in the office being treated. As per Covid protocols we cannot allow more that one patient in our space. As we are limited in space. In conversation you said we were "inhumane and that you had not been in winter before and how could we leave you out in the cold with improper cold weather coverings" When we attempted to explain that we could not let you in the office as per our COVID protocols. we had another patient being treated by Dr Mir. But the conversation became very aggressive on your part. You refused to listen to anything we said. At that point we began to feel very uncomfortable and threatened with your confrontational manner and we shared that we would let you come in as soon as our patient was done with her procedure and since you were late, to save time while you waited, we could collect your card information and help ease check out of your balance, as it is due on the date of the appointment . This request was also made since we had no credit card or any payment method on file for you, due to your previous friend paying for your deposit. .Furthermore, I can certainly understand you being upset about being cold but unfortunately Covid makes the rules, not us. Your lack of warm clothing is also not something we can accept responsibility for as it reflects common sense.

With the aggressive behavior and yelling you displayed outside our office Dr. Mir made a decision to come out and try and speak with you. Dr Mir had to leave the patient she was treating to come outside to greet you . Dr. Mir did not engage, she did not say anything to you, but rather stayed quiet and allowed you to scream at her until your said you were going to leave. She agreed that was a good idea, and then you left . She then promptly refunded the entire money your friend had paid for you.

In conclusion, this experience ended with another tenant who witness your aggressive behavior, asking if the police needed to be called due to your behavior. This was indeed one of the worst experiences we’ve had with a patient ever. A patient with a huge sense of entitlement who threatened and verbally berated all of our staff. After being hours late for her appointment.

I also want to add that we have the entire interaction between Angela Butts and Dr Mir on our video camera. In which you can see angela screaming at Dr Mir, our neighbors, standing there concerned and Dr Mir not engaging with Angela as Angela was yelling. . Angela then says she is going to go home, and Dr Mir says calmly. “I think that Is a good idea” and Angela stormed out.
