Painful but It Works, Haven't Found a Better Alternative for Lifting
It was $600 for 6 threads in the cheeks/midface. Had this procedure 3x. You're swollen about a week, then from week 1-3 months looks great, still looks good months 3-6, months 6-9 very small improvement from doing nothing, and by month 9 completely gone. I do Botox, Sculptra, and fillers in combination for max effect.
Absolutely the most painful procedure I've had, even with numbing injections in advance. The sound of the threads going in is unpleasant, too. But it's fast. I keep it up because aside from Facetite or a mini facelift which run in the high thousands, there's nothing that really works for lifting that I've found with quite a bit of research, or the lifting effects are so minimal that it's barely noticeable if at all. Thread lifts actually noticeably lift and soften my nasolabial folds. I was using fillers in cheek as a lifter and this was fine through my 20s but when I needed more fillers as I aged, the anatomy of my face changed so that I just looked puffy putting more fillers in my cheek as opposed to lifted, so I set out to find something expressly for lifting.
I'm a little concerned about the scar tissue that's being created with each treatment speeding up aging/causing asymmetries long term. They call this "collagen production"... what that means practically is scar tissue being formed. I have not found any evidence to support this concern, however.
For reference, I'm a 31 yo Caucasian female.
