Tummy Tuck Post Op Five Month Review... **no Additional Weight Loss**
ORIGINAL POST
My tummy tuck was an amazing experience. It was...
WORTH IT$10,000
My tummy tuck was an amazing experience. It was the first major surgery I have ever had in my 47 years and Dr. Azar made me feel completely comfortable and confident. He has a very soft bedside manor and you can feel his confidence from so many years in practice. He is conservative as well, which I love. I felt prepared and fully understand the procedure before the op. Three weeks post op, I developed a blood clot in the top of my left leg (DVT) and knew immediately what was happening due to being prepped so well. I was taken care of by the local ER and a stay in the hospital as if the red carpet was rolled out for me due to Dr. Azar's incredible reputation with the hospital. The nurses gushed over me and even begged to show off Dr. Azar's beautiful work to other nurses on duty. He was constantly calling and taking excellent care of me all during my stay. I had absolutely no fear due to how attentive Dr. Azar and the hospital staff were the entire time. I am asked many times if I would have the op if I was told the blood clot was a certainty and I say absolutely!! But only with Dr. Azar ;-) I won't hesitate for another op with him if he will have me!
My post care was excellent and worth the cost (I paid a total of $16k for extensive lipo on legs, knees, bra fat, love handles and of course tummy). He watched my scar closely (my belly button had a bit of a hard time but he took care of it well).
We are now managing my scar appearance. He injected steroid cream two months in a row and it now lays flat. I am treating with a silicone cream and lighting cream by ZO Skin Health (amazing) and will do laser treatments if necessary after six months.
My main reason for posting is to to show the results post five months (so most of swelling gone) with NO additional weight loss post surgery. I am on a three week streak back to 5/6 day workout schedule and felt it was important for others to see results with only the op lost (about 6-8 lbs). As I loose the weight and the final appearance of my scar post op in 8-12 months, I will update.
I am so happy with my results, I have completely changed and enjoying life to the fullest. Something that bothered me.... is now only a distant memory. My results are so much better than I could have achieved on my own at 47 and one pregnancy (with a 60 lb gain due to excessive water weight ~30lbs!)

Thank you for sharing your journey with the community. I am glad that everything turned out so well for you. How scary to end up with a blood clot. Just one of the potential risks with any surgery. You look fantastic in your pictures, thank you for sharing those.
