My legs look so much worse than before

The tissue died and the wound opened down pretty much the full length of both legs. I couldn't shower or exercise for months. I sat around in the smell of my own flesh dying and leaking fluid. I packed my own wounds multiple times a day and had to pull my own surgical drains out. I had to cut the surgical wire hanging out of my wounds. Dr. Katzen assured me it was all fine because "Don't worry. It won't need skin grafts!"

This was the worst experience of my life. I was left permanently disfigured and have spent a lot of money consulting with other surgeons, all of whom have said the result is not fixable. Some said there was probably too much tension on the wound when it was closed, or that the liposuction was too aggressive. Others said there was no way to even fat graft into the wound to fix the giant indent because the skin was too thin and scarred. Even my butt is messed up now from the way the scar pulls on it.

I was a young, healthy 20 something, non smoker, who lost the weight naturally and followed all surgical instructions to a T. This shouldn't have happened. Post op pain management was horrific as was the care provided at the post op surgical care center recommended by Katzen. Now I never wear shorts or skirts and don't go to the beach or a pool ever. My legs look so much worse than before.
