Pain
Today is 3 weeks and 2 days post op. I stopped taking meds soon after surgery, but last night I had to pop one in. My right lateral thigh was throbbing. I could not get comfortable. It felt numb, tingly and like it had a pulse. I’m not sure if my nerves are all reattaching or what, but nonetheless I d to take meds. This morning my faja which felt comfortable feels very tight. It’s like I’m more swollen today. My arms are also hurting right in the arm pit crease. This scares me because I’m terrified of having my incisions bust open. I’ve been very cautious and taking it very easy and slow. Im hoping it’s just nerves all reattaching and not something I’m doing or not doing. I walk around my house, but for the most part I’m In bed with my feet up. I can’t wait until the 6 week mark. Im doing my very first 1/2 marathon on October 9th. So I have about 7 weeks to train. At this point I’ve accepted I might not be able to run as much as I was hoping, but I’ll take anything. I will do what I can.

3 weeks post op
I’ve been back home for a couple of weeks now. I’m definitely taking extra care of myself this time around. I don’t want to risk any of my incisions opening like they did my first round. My girls (9,7and 3) have all been so helpful. If anything this experience has made them more independent. The incisions in my groin still hurt. I have to be careful how and what I sit on because it’s very uncomfortable. Getting in and out of a car is not fun at all. The incisions in my armpit also hurt from time to time. I am also still very swollen. I can’t wait until I’m so I can enjoy a little bit of Summer before I go back to work in August and my girls go back to school. I feel super guilty about all the screen time they’ve been getting lately.
