10.5 weeks

Sorry I'm late in posting this week's update. It's been a busy week...and incredible progress in my healing journey! Yesterday I spent 5 hours working in my flower beds...weeding, digging, chopping, raking. I was so sore by the evening, but guess what? No swelling! I wore a spanx cami but that's it! So, when I went to the gym today, I decided to try it without the binder. I did wear a compression tank and had no trouble whatsoever. Folks, dare I say it...I'm so close to 100%! Can't wait for my PS follow up on April 1 and to see the comparison of my before and after pics.
I'm still going strong with my scar treatment. Not seeing much change and my bb scar is darker than I would like at this point. I've decided this will not be a summer of two pieces or bikinis. I'm going to keep my scars covered this summer to give them the best chance for maximum healing. It's a little disappointing, but I'm so pleased with my new shape that even keeping it under wraps for one more season is a great improvement over my old belly!
Hope you are all doing well in whatever stage of this journey you are in. I say again...it is 1000x worth it!! And a special thank you to all others who have shared their journey. This site has been a tremendous resource and help to me throughout my own journey. I'm so grateful to everyone who has shared the good, the bad and the ugly out here. The open honesty gives real feedback to help others make informed decisions, or to help others know they are not alone and that the emotional and physical stages are normal. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!

9 weeks! 4 weeks of scar treatment.

Well, life is back to normal! I added Insanity to my daily routine on Sunday. Today was Day 2 and I can barely walk tonight. That's a good thing! I'm still a little stiff sometimes and struggle with ab work. I just listen to my body and don't push too hard. Every day gets easier and better.
My scar therapy is routine and I just ordered another box of 12 strips on Amazon.
Not too much change at this point, just healing every day. Loving my new tummy and the way my clothes fit. Looking back, the lipo was the worst part of the recovery. I never thought my flanks would soften and quit aching. Daily massage has helped tremendously and now they only ache at the end of a long hard day.
Oh...and I'm still taking bromelain for swelling. I swell but not as bad as I hear others say. So, the other day I went and worked out early in the morning and didn't take my bromelain first. Whoa mama....that stuff is obviously helping me. I was swollen like crazy by the time I made it home from the gym. And that was with my binder on during my workout! So I will continue taking my bromelain every morning -first thing. At least for several more weeks.

Hope everyone is doing great!

8 weeks post op!

I can't believe it has been 8 weeks already! I really feel great. Getting around like before and my sides are no longer achy throughout the day. The only time I really notice my scar is when I get up to use the restroom at night. It feels tight when I first get up and then it's fine again.
Three weeks of scar treatment so far. It's such a normal routine now keeping up with it. I really look forward to my daily self massage of the scar and my flanks. The silicone strips don't work so great on my belly button so I have been using the Biocroneum on it twice daily.
My workouts are increasing in intensity and I'm almost back to my pre surgery routine. Planning on starting Insanity on Sunday if I keep feeling this good!

Hope everyone is doing well in whatever stage of recovery you're in! :)
