Hair Transplant (FUHT) Totally Worth Doing - Thane, Mumbai, India

I first contacted Dr. Sameer Karkhanis back in May 2015, when I was keen on finding out what’s involved in a hair transplant procedure. I had a patch at the top of my head, where the hair was receding at a steady rate. Dr. Karkhanis responded to all my queries via email and we set up a face to face meeting shortly thereafter (given I was travelling from overseas).

In our first face to face meeting too, Dr. Karkhanis put all our doubts about the procedure to rest whilst patiently explaining the details. There was no overselling and the choice was entirely ours whether to go ahead with the hair transplant procedure or not.

After I decided to go ahead with the procedure (FUHT involving approx. 2500 grafts), a date was set for the surgery. On the day of the surgery, we were shown to our private room where anyone accompanying you can rest, while the procedure is on.

The operating theatre was all set up for the procedure and the staff attending to me was introduced. Dr. Karkhanis ensured that I was at ease and comfortable before starting the procedure. This included playing my favourite tunes throughout the procedure.

The anaesthesia was administered and the transplant procedure started. The procedure lasted the entire day and although it was tiring, Dr. Karkhanis and Dr. Bijoy were very good at their job, constantly making sure that I was at ease. The grafts were planted with utmost care and precision. The staff was always at hand to ensure your day stay is comfortable.

At the end of the procedure, I was given clear directions on what needed to be done in terms of after care. There was also a follow up visit to see Dr. Karkhanis before we left Indian shores. The sutures were removed locally by a GP here.

All in all, the procedure was worth doing, as can be seen from my photos. The bald patch that had started to increase in size (before the patch) is now fairly well covered by new transplanted hair (it has been just over 6 months after the procedure). Dr. Sameer Karkhanis, Dr. Bijoy and the entire team at CCRS are very good at what they do and will go out of the way to make you comfortable. A special mention must go to Sharada and Megha who coordinated the appointments and follow ups. Dr. Karkhanis has also been very responsive post surgery in responding to questions that may arise.
My experience with CCRS has been very good and I would highly recommend Dr. Sameer Karkhanis to anyone considering the hair transplant procedure.
