I had the above procedures on the 9th of August, about four weeks ago. Here is my story:

After my 40th birthday I turned my focuss to myself. In august 2011, I decided on abdominoplasty,to tackle a lax abdomen and umbilical herinia made worse by three deliveries.I relied on a friend to recommend a plastic surgeon since she was in India for treament at the time. Unfortunately, things went horribly wrong. Even though I was lucky to be alive, I looked mutilated.

After a few months of crying, I took the decision to correct the mistakes.Re-abdominoplasty with liposuction,to remove scars and creat symetry. I started intense internet searches, sent out huge numbers of queries and read thoroughly, the surgeons recommendations. I sent a query to Dr Sameer just as I had done for others, but he responded within the hour and his clinic followed up within 24 hours. That got my interest and I started a detailed search on him and was satisfied with what I gleaned.
on the 8th of August,I was picked up at the airport to his clinic. On arrival, there was a show because I refused to get out of the taxi, I did not recognise the clinic from outside. I was very suspicious from previous nasty experience. However when I got in I observed that the rooms were the exact same ones I had seen on his site.I was also reassured when I noticed an American in the room next to mine.I then met with the doctor and observed that he was soft spoken and patient to hear my preferences,I am frican. He gave me a realistic goal.

The following day,day of surgery, I was already getting nervous when the American man came over to me to tell me how pleased he was with his outcome. He showed me his scars and I was more than satisfied.

I woke up after the procedure which was done under general anaesthesia. I just couldn't get enough air because of the compression garments.I vomitted several times but there was no pain at this stage.

The second day was better even though the pain set in then.
By the third day my arms were on fire. Negligible pain in abdomen and back.On the forth day the garments were taken off and the drains removed. When I saw myself in the mirrow,"I said, this is all I really wanted in the first place, You make it look so simple." The wound had healed in a clean smooth, straight line. My abdomen still had a lot of swelling but I could see the symetry.I had several glasses of juice before a bath.
The compression garment was like torture. Liposuction is really not an easy way out, thats what I was saying because of my arms.By the next day I told the doctor, I just could not continue with the garment. He said since it was August the 15th India's indipendence day, he would also set me free for a day. I was in better spirits the next day. I was sent then for physiotherapy which really marked the turning point in my recovery.I felt more wholesome wih significant reduction in pain.

I remained in the clinic by choice till the time of my travel back. The staff are friendly and efficient, but sometimes there maybe a language barrier.

I left India 12 days after my surgery. The journey home was hectic but I felt like a victor. Back home I received a hero's welcome since I had insisted on what I wanted and had returned with a better report. All hands(belonging to 1 husband,3 children) were on deck for frequent physiotherapy. It took me exactly 3 weeks to feel completely well and I took pain killers for about 16 day because of the pain in the arms.

I still wear my compression garments. I am beginning to see results even though I was told it takes 3 months. I am already more confident because I am already beginning to recieve complements.

I don't have regrets cause everything turned out well. I have even forgiven the first surgeon who got it all wrong, reason being that he managed to keep me alive to get it right somewhere else.
