Breast Implant Revision in Australia

It has now just gone 6 weeks post my Breast Revision Surgery with Dr Glenn Murray at Absolute Cosmetic Medicine and I cannot express how unbelievably happy I am with the result and my overall experience.
From the moment I stepped into the Day Surgery for my procedure to the very last appointment I had with the Nurses and Dr Murray at the clinic, I have felt completely safe, confident and happy in my choice of practice and surgeon. I was extremely nervous for the weeks leading up to and on the day of my surgery, as I didn't know what the outcome was going to be. I wasn't 100% sure if the issues I had from my current breast Implants and surgery in Thailand were going to be able to be corrected because the tissue was already so damaged. As Dr Murray was doing his markings on me before the surgery commenced, he was talking to me about the revision surgery and what his main priorities were going to be with correcting the size and position of the Implants. He made me feel a lot better and put mind at ease as he was very informative telling me what everything meant in regard to his drawings and took his time ensuring every part of my chest was measured correctly to get the best result possible. My recovery after my surgery was a breeze and far more comfortable then what I had experienced in Thailand and was just completely different in every way. Dr Murray called me the night of my surgery, to check on how I was feeling and to make sure I wasn't in too much pain, and reassured me that he was available 24/7 if I was worried about absolutely anything or if I had any concerns. For the 7 days following, even after I had been to the clinic to see him for my check-ups, he would still send me a message in the afternoons to ensure I was okay. I have never felt so much support from a doctor or surgeon like what I had from Dr Murray, he really made me feel like he was there for me 100% of the way. Being able to be at home while recovering, with my surgeon and family close by was amazing. As the recovery process from such a big surgery is a very emotional time, I am so grateful that I was able to heal at home in my own bed with my loved ones only a meter away and with Dr Murray only a phone call away. This is something I did not have in Thailand and something I really struggled with. I am confident to say that the internal and external complications that I had from my previous surgery have been corrected by Dr Murray and he told me the morning of my first follow up appointment exactly how complex my case was, how damaged the tissue was internally, and how much internal stitching he had to do, he also showed me a picture of the implants that were inside of me. Both implants had gone cloudy and murky, the branding on the back had rubbed off (excellent quality implants should stay clear and should be STAMPED with the barcode/ brand), one of my implants was also almost completely flat like a pancake as it had been slowly leaking over 3 years which I was not aware of. This horrified me as I actually had counterfeit implants in my body that had been leaking into my tissue. I was told I was going to receive top quality “Mentor Implants” which are advertised through the Medical Tourism company and through the Bangkok Hospital as being one of the best brands of Implants available. From week two of my recovery I commenced back to work at my office job and ever since have made sure that I am taking it easy and listening to my body. I am now almost fully recovered having just gone 6 weeks (besides from the odd sting, tingle and nerve twitch here and there) and have begun easing back into low-impact exercise (xtend barre, pilates, yoga etc). I can honestly say that I am SO over the moon with the result from my surgery with Dr Murray and wish from the very first moment I decided to have breast surgery I chose to do this in Australia at home rather than in a foreign country as I would have saved myself a LOT of money. From having experienced Cosmetic Surgery abroad and Cosmetic Surgery in Australia I have seen both sides first hand and I cannot stress enough my recommendation to just stay at home and stay safe. I am continuing to hear horror stories from others who have travelled after me for cosmetic surgery and I feel the need to educate people who are considering surgery overseas on the hidden dangers and hidden expenses. Although complications don't occur with everyone who decide to travel overseas, it does happen to people a lot more than what we hear about as the companies who organise Medical Tourism cover up so much from the public. For anyone considering cosmetic surgery, I can vouch from my firsthand experiences that staying home is the best option. I would recommend Absolute Cosmetic Medicine and Dr Murray to anyone considering cosmetic surgery and would trust them with my life!

Dr Murray is very approachable, down the earth and has made me feel extremely confident in my choice of surgeon for my procedure. The professionalism from everyone in the clinic from the moment i walked in was outstanding. Dr Murray made me feel comfortable throughout my whole consultation and took his time answering every question i had in great detail- his medical knowledge is outstanding. I cannot wait to have my procedure later this month and from my experience so far i would recommend anyone considering cosmetic surgery to meet with Dr Murray at Absolute Cosmetic!

Sept 5th - 2nd Consultation with Dr Murray Before my Revision Surgery
I met with Dr Murray to discuss the final details for my surgery- He took me through an extremely detailed consent form and made sure I understood everything to do with my procedure.
We discussed the best options in regards to the size and placement of my new implants and the realistic expectations for my body type. He also insisted on discussing the risks and complications that are related with Breast Surgery even though I have already had a Breast Augmentation.
I can honestly say I have walked away today feeling extremely confident with my choice in clinic, surgeon and Breast Implants. I cannot stress enough the relief I feel doing this in Australia, close to home with a trusted and experienced surgeon and team of practitioners.
Dr Murray took me through a series of before and after photos of botched Thailand surgeries he has corrected, and I was actually blown away with the amount of women who end up needing to have a revision surgery.
As the implants I currently have are completely incorrect for my body frame, we discussed the different sizing options that will leave me with the results that I originally hoped for when having my first surgery in Thailand. The implants I currently have are round 300cc smooth moderate plus profile and these will be replaced with round 430cc Ultra high profile implants. He explained to me exactly how he would achieve the results by describing the techniques used in the surgery. My current implants sit apart on my chest and almost disappear into my armpits; they sit very low and have little to no projection from the side.
The new implants that will be replacing my old ones are full projection, giving me fullness through the top and side of my breast and will sit a lot closer together to provide me with cleavage even without wearing a bra (HOORAY). I was originally struggling with what I wanted my new implants to look like, but Dr Murray did not rush me at all and took his time to explain every possible outcome with me.
I have now only got the last few things to organise before I go in for my procedure including my garment fitting, pre op blood tests and a water test. I am counting down the days now as my surgery approaches and will update you post surgery with how I’m feeling, my results and surgical outcome.
