Top Notch Guy with a Steady Hand (Rhinoplasty/Chin Implant)

After hours of research, went with Dr. Dean because of his experience, credentials, virtually all positive reviews, and his specialty for only dealing with the neck up. From the initial consultation to the post-op follow-ups, everything was spot on. I knew what I wanted but was purposely vague in expressing my expectations to see what he would suggest. Everything he recommended aligned with what I had concerns with and he thoroughly answered my list of questions. After careful consideration and moving money around I decided to go for it.

For someone with a history of anxiety and thinking of the worst-case scenario, my confidence in the doc during the day of the surgery was high enough to actually keep me calm and looking forward to going under the knife. I didn't expect to remain so optimistic, but I had peace of mind even until the general anesthesia kicked in. Looking back, the only part that sucked was the side effects from the anesthesia after gradually waking up. For me it didn't feel like a sudden time-jump as some people might describe it; it genuinely felt more like a nap.

During recovery, my down-time felt like a cake walk compared to a lot of the stories I have read about. No complications, no real worries, hardly any pain (used maybe two pills for it), almost no numbness in either areas, kept full function of face, and virtually no bruising except a very slight yellowing under the eyes. Their office kept in touch with me quite often to make sure I was doing ok. Literally the worst part was fighting boredom while stuck inside and not being able to shower. I stuck to a soft diet for a few days until I felt ready to actually chew. Chewing felt very weird for about 2 months because I can feel the muscle moving over the chin implant. That feeling has pretty much subsided by now. Currently I still don't like shaving over the implant incision area simply because it still feels bizarre as some numbness lingers a little bit.

There are several follow-ups to check on things and make sure parts are healing the way they should. Staff has always been great. Rescheduling has always been easy (which I did too often). There's not much more to say other than the result is what I predicted. Only thing that remains is the nose tip still has a long ways to go before getting down to size.

(Disregard any complexion issues in the images, those are unrelated to this).
