Had a peel for the 1st time days ago. With a microdermabrasion and 3 layers. Way too aggressive. The first day was fine just tight feeling. Day 2 may face started to heat up and felt like fire in the middle of the night. Itching, red, tingling, mildly swollen, super dry eyes and I was excessively thristy. I washed it with cold water applied hydrocortisone. It calmed by morning. It still looked tanish/red but the itchiness subsided. I called my aestheticsian and wasn’t available so I spoke to someone else and she said it seems like a normal reaction. The same thing starts to happen again that evening, I applied Benadryl cream which seemed to calm it down but took forever. Peeling has started at this point. Day 4 was better face calm looking good, but it was still tanish greyish and would look better temporarily when I washed it with cold water. I’m very concerned. Finally got a hold of the person who did my peel and she said it sounds like an allergic reaction. Wish I had known sooner! Well my face was calm at this point but day 5 in the evening, it started again!! Itchy mild tingling and the color is ashy grey/tan. I’m miserable. I can’t leave my house during the day for fear of making worse by the sun. My skin is grey, I have no idea if this will get better on its own or permanent. The aestheticsian said she’ll call to check on me but really I don’t think anything willl help. I had perfect skin with the exception of forever wrinkles I wanted diminished. What will help this, Steroid cream? Has this happened to anyone and did it get better?
