Nose Hump I Didn't Like - Tampa, FL

ORIGINAL POST

I really wanted several things: I wanted someone...

WORTH IT$8,000
I really wanted several things: I wanted someone dual certified (American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery). I wanted my dorsal hump removed, I wanted the tip to be refined (smaller and more feminine) and I wanted my nose straightened.

Dr. Davis is amazing! I didn't live in the area so my pre-op appt was my initial consult (we talked in advance to arrange my appointments). I absolutely love Dr. Davis. I work in healthcare and spent considerable time doing research and had consults at several doctor's offices. I was a tough critic. I wanted someone dual board certified (Otolaryngology and Facial/Reconstructive surgery) and someone who cared as much about function as appearance. Ultimately I was looking for a doctor that specialized in noses, not a plastic surgeon that sometimes does a "nose job". Dr. Davis does A LOT of rhinoplasties and just the fact he had photos and information on them on his website was a good sign to me! (Most plastic surgeons just feature a lot of breast augmentation photos. A botched boob job doesn't change the way you breath and not everyone sees your breasts. I really did not want to see that in a surgeon.) Yeah the $75 initial consult fee kind of sucked, he had the highest fees of any of the surgeons I "interviewed" but he also had the most experience and talent. It's your face! Everyone is going to see it. I saw it as an investment, if I went to a less talented doctor, I was going to have to pay twice to get a botched job fixed, thus making them more expensive. Ultimately your nose is super important and serves a lot of non-cosmetic purposes, I really wanted my nose to still do it's "job" but fix the dorsal hump I'd had since childhood. Another reason I liked Dr. Davis? He turns people away. If you want something unrealistic or unsafe, he will recommend a different doctor or discourage it. We talked extensively and I have a lot of respect for doctors willing to turn someone away.
