did you have a transcutaneous lower bleph - where the incisions are on the outside-
Yes. I had some puffiness and wrinkles under my eyes and from my research and surgeons advice the incison inside the lower lid would not adequately correct this, so yes I had transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty and there is an incison line about 2-3 mm under my lower lash line. I am at 6 weeks now and from again research and my surgeon this is the time when the incison may be most apparent . Make up covers well enough that most people don't notice it unless I point it out or just think it is a small wrinkle. My understanding is that this will be less apparent and even hard to detect by a three to six month range. My assistant at work told me yesterday that she sees a much smoother look to my under eye area since the surgery and sees continual improvement and that she thought the incision line was just a stubborn wrinkle. The incisons are a bit red but I am told this is normal at this point and again should improve to the point of being hard to detect in the coming months. I just tap foundation gently onto the incison lines of upper and lower incisions and they are quite subtle. The uppers are mostly hidden in the crease but both incisons do extend upward a bit past the eye. I read in a book by a top plastic surgeon in LA that this is the right way to do the procedure to prevent bunching of tissue in the area. Hope this is helpful
Thanks! I have one more question - did the doctor use tissue glue or stitches (the question mark key on my laptop is broken...) I would love to show your photos to my PS.
He used stitches. Feel free to show my pics.
You look beautiful.
Thank you so much. I am happy with results but validation is really nice
you must be thrilled, you look gorgeous!!!
Yes I am quite happy with results..and putting make up on is much easier now ..I feel that I can accentuate again not try to coverup or down play the things I did not like.
Have you noticed that the horizontal neck bands moved up with the lift? Are they softer looking than before? That is what I am concerned about in finding a dr. who will address these bands.
Yes . I have had horizontal bands all my life and knew they would still be there, but yes the surgery did move them up and I feel that they are less conspicuous
I agree! They have. That is what I am hoping for, too!

Oops yes cost was 14,500, ( $10,500 Dr/ $4000 surgery center and anestheologist)
Sorry to mistype the financial numbers. It was $10,500 for Dr Rieger and approx. $4000 for the surgery center and anesthesiologist for a total of $14,500. I could have used a cheaper option but I like that Dr. Rieger is cautious and uses a surgey center and anesthesiologist. It was a five and half hour surgery. I never had to take the pain meds he prescribed ...only took Tylenol to sleep for first 3 nights. Followi up care has been excellenent. Everyone is happy for me and all but my husband say they can now understand why I had the surgery. My husband is the only one who says I don't look much different but he is happy that I am happy. It must be love that makes him not not see the things that I saw before. He does not want to see the before pics to compare. Everyone else is quite impressed . A coworker in my company from a different location saw me today .. first time post surgery, she used to work for a large plastic surgery practice in Californa. Her response was "OMG you look great and so natural." She was astonished by my incisions and said there are the best work she has seen.
I have more pics but they would not load so I will try again. Please feel free to contact me with Amy questions you have. This site has been so helpful to me.

I can see a beautiful difference! Completely natural looking & you have a glow about you. Thanks for your helpful review.
Thank you, so much ..it is so nice to hear and to be on this end of this journey.
Great results!
You looked lovely before, seriously,- and this is the person your husband loves. But you are still the same person and if you feek happier and more confident in your own skin then good for you! You look beautiful now, younger and no one takes this decision lightly so well done. I am doing fl in London on 14th of July. So nervous and feeling ambivalent about the whole thing but accepting that it is not an easy decision. Hope you keep on recovering well. Best wishes!
Thank you for your kind words . It certainly is not an easy decision. I felt I had prepared as best I could and that I had found the right surgeon for me. I had a pretty easy recovery and just reminded myself that swelling goes down, bruises fade and incisions heal. My wish for you is that you have as easy recovery as I have and that you get the results you desire. I am glad I took this journey and wish you all the best.
What a wonderful comment! So true.
Congratulations, you look like a younger and fresher version of yourself!!!
Thank you
you look beautiful. Dr. Rieger is the just best. Love him.
He really is and every thing is healing well. I will post more pics at the three month mark. The ones dr Reiger took for his site don't show my eyes well because I could not stop blinking when the camera flashed.
