I started accutane on 3/24/18 I am on 40mg a day. I dealt with just a few breakouts from my teen years until 21 but it completely went away when I got on minocycline. At 21 I had my first child and had to stop it. I broke out horribly while pregnant and 6 years later and after another child 1 year ago my face has never looked worse. I have many acne scars, my pores are huge, and I have lot's of hyperpigmentation. I started one week ago but I am hopeful this will be the real deal for me and I no longer have to suffer from acne as an adult.

PS: No face dryness yet but my lips are starting to get dry especially at the corners.

Sounds to me that you have food allergies.
I went down your path and i have scares myself. I finally went to a naturopath who did blood work on me to check on ALL food allergies and it turned out i was allergic to milk, cheese and eggs. I stopped the milk (cheated with cheese a bit) but my acne and bumps diminished significantly. After taking all this crap medicine, hormone blockers which killed my sex drive it turns out it was all about changing my diet. Uggg... and i have scares. :(
And BTW i had no symptoms of food allergies. I was told it was causing minor inflammation so it was showing up in my skin.

Check your diet with a blood test and then adjust from there.
Hope this helps you! :)

Here's one you can do yourself online: https://www.everlywell.com/products/food-sensitivity/
just not sure how you get them your blood.

Wow really!? That is really interesting I'm def going to look into this. I went through a similar food allergy study for my headaches but didnt even consider my acne. Thanks for the info!

I realized I hadn't taken any before pics. Even though I'm almost in the 3rd week I still feel like this is before because my face hasnt changed since I started. I'm feeling good no changes yet just a tiny but of dryness on my chin.

Your acne isn’t that bad so I think you’ll take to the medicine great. I start mine today tomorrow at 40mg a day.

I hit 2 weeks on accutane on Saturday. I am absolutely noticing dryness in my face and especially lips. My lips are not cracking or anything but I do need to apply chapstick 3 or 4 times a day. As for my face it has always been very oily so I'm still trying to figure out this dryness lol I'm using Neutrogena hydro boast for moisturizer but I feel like it doesn't last that long. Or maybe I'm expecting to much lol If anyone has any suggestions on a good moisturizer let me know!
