Incisions opening after breast reduction

WORTH IT
I decided to update with review with my experience after breast reduction so other women experiencing the same thing can see how the healing process went for me. I had my reduction on February 15th 2017 and my first opening happen 20 days post op on March 5th 2017. After the first opening occurred and things started rapidly getting worse and I realized I was going to be one of the many women that suffer from complications after breast reductions. From how it was explained to me is that my body was rejecting my internal stitches that were supposed to dissolve so my body was opening up to try to spit the stitches out. I was devastated the first couple weeks and cried everytime I had to change my gauze and look at all the opening. I got in the shower with my gauze on morning and night to remove it so it would not pull on any of my skin and washed with unscented dove soap. After I would apply Silvadene and gauze. I searched for other women that had gone through the same thing as me and I did find a few but none followed up with the healing process so I had no idea what to expect through all of this. I am finally coming to the end of it all I hope and I am almost 8 weeks post op. I do not blame my doctor whatsoever and I am very happy with my shape and size. I hope this can help anyone that reads this that is going through a similar situation.

I had them in chronological order but they got mixed around.
Have you ever had any surgery before that would have let you know this could happen? Or is this first surgery ever? So sorry this happened to you.
First surgery ever. At least now I know my body does not do well with internal stitches I guess (:
i experienced something similar. No where near the severity you did. I ended up healing nicely after waiting weeks for it all to close. About a month ago it opened up again a little bit, but closed in a few days. Now that I am fully healed I have awful scaring on my right breast. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do about it yet. I struggled so hard when I was going through it all. I wish I would have been able to talk to someone about it as well...
I'm happy you have healed! It must have been such a relief. Have you thought about Scar revision? My PS mentioned it but I'm scared to be cut into again after this. Not sure if I would rather just live with the scars.

Have had large breast since I was 12 years old....

Have had large breast since I was 12 years old. After years of head aches, back pain, and discomfort decided it was time for a change. Had three consultations before deciding on Dr.Greenwald and have not second guessed my decision. I am very happy with my results and I would definitely do it all over again.

Thank you for joining the community and sharing your results with us.  How much of a reduction is size were they able to achieve?

Well I have had some complications healing so I have not been able to put anything on yet that is not the basic front closure no wire bras. I think I’m about a D or DD.
Sbrown85- I had my BR on Jan 18 with Dr. Greenwald as well. He is amazing. I've had minor complications and I'm so pleased on how they look.

That is a very nice change in size!   What type of complications have you had?

I have updated my review to show my complications

Thank you for the update.
