POSTED UNDER Chin Implant REVIEWS
One month after my surgery and starting to see results
ORIGINAL POST
I’ve been wanting this for years... it didn’t mat...
WORTH IT$5,500
I’ve been wanting this for years... it didn’t matter how skinny I was I had this horrible chin. I’m writing this bc it helped me make decisions and I sought comfort here after my surgery. I at first wondered if I’d made the right decision bc my dbl chin appeared worse at first and my bruising took 3 weeks to go away... I still have a good amount of swelling but I can now see better results... cpl more weeks n I should see more final results. I’m still numb on the right side of my mouth but the staff at my dr office have been very good about letting me know all the things that are normal to feel. Dr Castellano is super understanding and even sweet... his staff very gentle to my vulnerable state. There was not really any pain... my biggest worry was sleeping and not wanting to mess anything up... I didn’t take any pain medication and my dr didn’t recommend wearing a garment after the first initial few days... there are mixed reviews on that but I had an implant in addition to lipo. My results are subtle but I’m excited to see the final results!! And look for to seeing Dr. Castellano for my next age defying venture.

Update and disappointed
At this point I’m not sure about my implant. I have days I’m ok with it and days I’m disgusted with it. It helped my profile but has changed the shape of my face in the front... I had a more round face and now I have more of a square face. So disappointing as it took me 20 years to get the nerve up to do it n totally put my trust in the drs judgement... I completely should’ve educated myself about wings or no wings n what type of material. I think the dr is skillful n my scar healed well n it could’ve been worse... but that’s not good enough for 5500 dollars worth... I’m trying not to be a princess about it but I can’t gelp it no I’m more self conscious than before

I feel you. U_U you probable were okay before and it was just the fat on the neck that bother you. I regret mine too. Idk what to tell you. Do you prefer your face before? And are you willing to go back to your previous look? Ask about skin sagging after removal. Ask if there is any techniques he knows to prevent the sagging, if your remove it. I hope my doctor gives me a positive answer and does not dismiss my concerns. I hear that all doctors say "you look beautiful" "you look great". It is all a business u_u.

I was completely happy w my face from the front view before... it was my side profile. I wish he would’ve explained to me that it could change my face in the front... this gave me jowls. N I still have a hanging chin... apparently I needed to pull up the platysmal muscle under the chin, that’s what a different dr told me but 3 others said do implant n lipo... looks like I should’ve listened.. I will wait a few months n decide whether to remove it

I don't think you are being a princess at all. It is your face and your money, so I believe you have the right to get revisions and raise concern if necessary.

Thank you .. bc I’m hearing oh it looks great when I don’t feel that way... I’ve seen some great jobs out there... I just don’t think mine is one of them. Drs need to explain this or that could happen to you..so u are completely informed bc I had no idea it could give me jowls!

I've seen a good amount of reviews where people didn't know exactly what the implant would do. It's hard to get all the information from surgeons and sometimes even they can't predict exactly what the results would be. Mine also had wings too and was 5mm. I hoped for more noticeable results and it was difficult to see at some angles. The staff would tell me it looks great but I didn't feel great at all. I could feel they didn't understand why I was complaining even though it was my face not theirs. They helped me remove it in the end at least but now no one responds to me after the removal.

If I had to be honest with myself it probably was a noticeable difference in the beginning. Almost two years later the pain I would experience in my chin made me scared and focus heavily on the implant. When the surgeon couldn't tell me exactly why I was feeling pain and to not remove it because it could make the pain worst it made me very sad. I hope if you do get a revision you get more of the result you want.

When you removed it.. did your face go back to what it was before? My dr did revision lipo but not on my implant... it helped the jowl a tiny bit but I still have square shape. I understand they can’t predict exact results but they can prepare you for that. He wants me to at least wait a year before removing it to see if I can get used to it be I did have a pretty receding chin but at least I wasn’t guessing every day how I will feel

I have never heard of pulling the platysmal muscle. And yes, sometimes we think that because a lot of people say the same thing that it is right. And it is not the case. On doctor, only one told me that I should not get the implant since it would make my face square but since most "recommended" it then I bought into it. Maybe you can get an implant without wings. Post a pic of before so we can see the difference.

What type of implant did you get? Did you get one with wings?

Yes it was a mute man prejowl... I feel like it made more of a jowl n I read that usually men get this implant n women get an anatomical extended one

I had a chin implant about a week ago and am experiencing a lot of lower right lip numbness. I am nervous about it and wa wondering how long did it take for your numbness to resolve?
