Booby Update!

I love them! I had my surgery on February 11th; it's now the 29th of March and my boobies have steadily been settling in. It took a few weeks for them to get softer (they were SUPER firm for a while), and one seemed to be a little higher than the other for 2 weeks or so. I'll post more pictures in a few months to let you guys see the completely healed results. I got 500ccs in my left breast, and 475ccs in the right. My only complaint is the visibility of my scars.. But then again, it has only been a little over a month- so hopefully they'll fade a bit more.

Mondor cord

User Avatar

I can't quite get a good picture of it, but I've developed a mondor cord on my left incision. I didn't know what it was until I looked it up, and apparently it's common. I felt tugging while I was at work today, and a little pain.. It felt like it was on my left rib. I peeled my steristrips off after I found it, they were getting really itchy. Other than that, my soreness is almost gone completely.
As far as the recovery experience goes, I think what I least expected was the amount of soreness there would be for the entire week after surgery. I was under the impression that I could go back to work after 3 days, and let me just warn all of you prospective ladies out there; take an entire week off of work if any way possible, even if you have a desk job like I do. The pain/soreness is completely down played. You're going to be in ALOT of pain. Just a forewarning. I had a c-section in 2013, and this recovery is making that one seem like cake.

Hi there, congratulations on your boobies!!! Sorry to hear about your recovery, and the mondor cord. I have to admit that I had a pretty painful couple of weeks, I was on my own after 3 days, and over did it. I weaned myself off my pain meds too soon because I needed to drive, etc. I definitely didn't treat this as a serious surgery, and it definitely IS! My sister had to keep reminding me of that, and looking back on everything, I should have asked for more help.
I do agree that 'we' downplay the pain. I think it's that we don't want to scare the begezuz out of anyone else contemplating this surgery, lol. OR, it's that 'we' put up with it in our own ways, and don't want to admit that everything hurts as bas as it does?? Yeah, I'm probably going to go with both of these reasons.

On a good note, I've read that mondor cord goes away on its own, and rather quickly. I hope that you find a lot of relief soon, and things should get better around your one month mark, so yeah!! Congrats again on your new boobies, they are going to be really incredible, and it sounds like you have a great partner that really appreciates them too!!

Congrats on your surgery! You'll be so happy with your size!! I had implants with a lift and the pain was very intense for several days. Hang in there! Sounds like you're going better already!

The pain is bad for the first 4-5 days minimum. The only thing I'd recommend is doing a towel stretch LIGHTLY to help ease the pain you could probably find a private place to do this at work. My surgeon had me do this stretch after my surgery that really helped with pain/ soreness. He will not prescribe muscle relaxers and believes the only way to get rid of the muscle soreness is stretching. I gotta say he was right though I hated him the first day or so after surgery.

To do the stretch place a towel behind your back and extend your arms (don't try to lift them more than a 30 degree angle from your back) hold on to the towel and roll your shoulders back. Hold for about 10 seconds. Basically when you are experiencing a bunch of pain it's because your chest is in spasm and you have to get the muscle to release.

Some women experience less pain for me it was really really bad for about 6 days although after day 4 pain reduced significantly. I took 3 weeks off work since I was ending an old job and starting a new one. If I had to recommend a recovery period it would be a week.

I hope you feel better soon! Remember this is temporary and your pain will go away. You are almost there!

Constipation?

User Avatar
frankie.s
My pain has eased in my breasts, but Im having some slight back pain. I think it may be because of the extra weight on my chest. Also, I'm soooo constipated. I haven't had a bowel movement in five days, and just recently started to feel discomfort from it. I've tried the "smooth move" tea from the health food store, but it didn't help. I tried tiny lax pills from CVS the next day, which also didn't help. About an hour ago, I took some milk of magnesia, and immediately got very nauseous. I'm having a lot of gas, but still no movement.

I bet the milk of mag may end up working, that has been a life savor for me in the past. If not, try either prune juice (the most disguising thing in the world imo but if your desperate, it's worth it) or kambucha...it's a drink with a ton of probiotics, you can get at target and it's actually pretty good. ..I posted a picture of it on my review for reference. .it definitely goes through you but I've never tried it after a surgery so I can't attest to that. ..good luck!

I went through the same thing stool softners did not help me go but don't stop taking them like I did. It's horrible :( when you finally do go. Drink lots of water and eat as many fruits and veggies as you can. It will happen.
