It's 4 weeks since my surgery and I feel great. I'm so happy to have my chin back. My scars are healing well and I'm massaging them every day and applying Bepanthen. I still have some numbness, but only in front of my ears and under my chin.

Day 13: All Stitches Removed

I had the staples and the last of my stitches removed today and I'm looking forward to a more comfortable nights sleep without the staples. My scars look pretty good, though they're a bit dry. I still have some swelling under my chin, but it's not that noticeable. I'm very happy with my progress, I had very little downtime with minimal bruising.

Thank you! I've been using Paw Paw ointment up to now, but now my stitches are out and my scars have healed, I'm going to use Bepanthen Scar Treatment. Do you have any recommendations?

Not really. I just had a TT and I am using a siilicon cream called bioCorneum plus ScarAway strips. I think silicon helps keep them moist while healing.
Bepanthen sounds good. I don't think you can get it here in the US.

Bepanthen is a silicone gel like bioCorneum, is it working well for you?
I'm so pleased I went ahead with my neck lift, although the change is subtle, it's made a huge difference to me and I highly recommend it. :)

I think my scar is healing well. But really only time will tell.
I am probably more nervous about a neck lift than I was about the TT but I want to do it soon so everyone will think I just lost weight.

Yeah we just have to be patient right?! :)
TT is way more invasive than a neck lift, so I'm sure you'll cruise through it. I understand your reticence, facial surgery has to be good.
Everyone who knows, thinks I look awesome and people who don't know tell me how well I'm looking. So it's all good! :)

I'm doing great thanks. My scars have all healed and I'm massaging them with Bepanthen gel and I'll post some photos this week.

Day 3: Drain Removed

My drain is out and I feel more comfortable. The skin on my jaw and behind my ears is a bit numb, but I don't have any bruising. I'm really happy with my recovery at this stage. I wasn't sure how I would feel after the surgery, so it's good to feel so well.

I always thought there was a far bit of bruising. Maybe it kicks in a few days postop. You wearing a compression garment of some sort? Are you on any meds?

I was expecting bruising too. Yes I'm wearing a compression garment to reduce swelling and my doctor said I don't need that from tomorrow, but I guess I'll still put it on if I feel swollen. I'm not taking any meds since my drain was removed and I was only taking Panadol/Tylenol before that.

I feel really good thank you. I still have some swelling, but it's only obvious to me. The lack of bruising really surprised me, because I bruise very easily. My staples are being removed on Tuesday, so I'll take photos and post an update then.

I know right, but they don't bother me. They are in my hair behind my ears, you can see them in the photo showing my drain.

Looking great! How are the stitches feeling? I love how your doctor really hid them in the ear and hairline.

Thank you! The stitches feel fine and will be removed in 2 days. The scars really won't be obvious.

Thank you! My surgeon is Dr Nicholas Lotz and I can't fault my experience with him and his office.
