My Tummy Tuck Journey - Sydney, Australia

I have waited 14 years to finally be able to say that my wish has come true. Two beautiful children and a great life. But as most of you know, as a woman, beauty isn't always from within and yes scars do matter! Stretch marks do matter! Bikini's are out of the question and full pieces are your only option to get a tan or participate in all water fun with kids and friends.
It is even more heartbreaking when your girlfriends are still getting around in the latest bikini's.
In 5 days I am finally Sydney, Australia bound for my much anticipated surgery and I couldn't be any more anxious, nervous and excited all in one. My beautiful mother in-law will be with me the day of my surgery while hubby stays home and looks after the house and children. I don't know which is scarier, the operation or the three of them being home alone ahhhhh.

Well...I will spend the weekend cooking and freezing meals for 2 weeks and make sure the house is children and husband friendly for the time i am away.

Please keep in mind the cost of my surgery covers hospital stay for 1 week and all post-op care from my surgeon.

I have private health cover and medicare assist in my rebate for part.

I can't wait to get back to you with my post-op report and photo's.

Thank you. It is very exciting! I can't wait

Good luck! I am also In Sydney having mine done the day before. My biggest concern is also leaving the kids with hubby! Its a surreal feeling right now hey?

It is a surreal feeling! I am from Darwin so leaving my hubby at home with kids is really hard as I will be away for 3 weeks. It will be good for them. Wow...the day before. Your count down is almost over. I am excited for you!

I'm excited for you! I am now 10 days post TT and am already thrilled with the results. I am of course still swollen and have some achy pain, but all worth it so far. It sounds like you are very well prepared for the downtime you will need to relax and let yourself heal. Let your family take care of you -I know it's hard, but will be worth it to get your best result. Best of luck!

Thank you. How exciting for you too!! I will be away from the family for three weeks so i won't feel that I have to get up to do the cooking or washing or cleaning. Is your husband happy with the result?
October 8, 2013
I think I'm the most happy with the results so, as I had the issue with my "pooch" and he never said anything about it. But I know he's happy that I did this for myself, and even happier that I might actually attempt to wear a bikini again! there will still be a lot of swelling for weeks after hte proceudre, which makes me a little impatient since i want to see what's hiding under there! But already MUCH flatter that before, and actually have a smaller waist!

That is great to hear! Yes, my hubby has never said anything about it but it was my insecurities that made me wonder what he actually thought. My best friends just bought me my first Sea Folley bikini to celebrate when i am ready for the beach. Take care :)

Good Luck. I am also from Sydney. You're the first person I have met from here. Get bio oil from chemist warehouse to treat scars and plenty pillows to prop yourself up and for under your knees. I slept sitting up for 3 weeks. Look forward to seeing your po pics

Thank you. I am actually from Darwin however, Sydney is our second home for months of each years so it was my preferred place for surgery. Thank you for the advice. I have been making some serious notes with the advice I have read or have been given. It is so important for me to know what everyone goes through and the good and the bad post-op

How did u go today? Had mine yesterday and slowly on the mend although it has been a pretty rough 24 hours. Hope u are feeling well!
October 10, 2013
Hi there It went really well. Fortunately I didn't have any muscle repair so my pain is there but not as intense as yours may be. Take care :)
October 12, 2013
Hello there how are you feeling? Are things getting better for you now?
October 12, 2013
Hi there! Yes today was my best day and I know it's only going to get better. Taking colaxyl with senna everyday so have been having BM which makes everything so much easier! Showered myself and even washed my hair today. Can only walk for ten mins then I am exhausted. Probably going home tomorrow with the drain still in but my surgeon said that my results are great and if I put up with the discomfort in the first week I can "cruise to finish line". My back is the sorest from hunching but have been putting ice on it. On panadine forte a few times a day but will hopefully go off them soon. How are you? Each day gets a little better!
October 12, 2013
That's great to hear. Yes, I am on Movicol and am still waiting on BM. I feel like a balloon right now. Oh wow, I am not allowed to shower until my drains are removed so the nurses have been bathing me each day but my hair has been neglected. Thank you to Baliste for dry shampoo. I have been walking down to the hospital park and sitting in the sun for 20 minutes each day which is lovely. So nice to get out of the airconditioning and still air. I am here in hospital until Tuesday so I wish you all the best when you get home and hope you have someone to take care of you there. Keep me updated on your progress. Take care :)

Thanks Hun wishing you a good recovery as well. I saw my ps yesterday and he said my stomach muscles were separated by 20cm!!! No wonder I had so much back pain and felt so bad about myself. After hearing that I knew I made the right choice, bummed that I have to have this stupid drain in until Thursday when do u get urs out?
October 12, 2013
Wow...20cm!! This surgery is going to make a huge difference to you now!! You won't know who you are lol. My drains are in until Monday/Tuesday. I can't wait! I still haven't seen my tummy. Have you seen yours?
October 12, 2013
About to take the bloody cg completely off for a shower so will see it soon. Saw it when surgeon pulled it down but just looks very swollen and puffy to me. But know that it's not the end result by any means!

Wow your pre surgery pic looks a LOT like mine. How did surgery go?!? Get some rest, fluids and stay on top of your pain meds.
October 10, 2013
Oh my...you are so right and our incisions seem to be identical too. He wasn't able to take the belly button all the way down So i too have a vertical incision. The surgery itself went really well. I can wait to see the result though.

Cant wait to see your results!

Day 3 - Recovery

Hope0303
I am still in hospital on the road to recovery. I am now motivated, able to go to the bathroom on my own and walk around the hospital regularly.
It is painful but feels great to walk around and stretch and is good for you and the healing process. I am still yet to see my tummy as my sexy binder has to stay on for a while yet. I can't wait though. Super excited!!

Hi, I'm in Adelaide, 2mthsPO. Thank God for private insurance as the first week in Hospital is a life saver. You are on the first day of this marathon, keep positive and you will wonder what all the drama was about in such a short time. Go for it with confidence.
