I was told that I would need 4 sessions of this treatment to improve the quality of my skin around the lip area. My doctor recommended the lip area as I reacted before to Hyaluron and was concerned of any allergic reaction. After the 2 treatment I noticed no changes but was told it would take time for me to see improvements. After the 3rd treatment my face got very swollen and I was told it would take 2-3 days for this to go away; after 3 weeks I was still very swollen and now after three months I cannot see any improvements to the skin quality but very ugly swollen areas which make me look much older than before. My doctor acted very professional and asked for the Galderma specialist, Frank Stuenzli to come and see me. Mr Stunzli firs offer to give me the money back, I said that would not be enough and I wanted my face back and an specialist to see me. He offer to report this to the research team and also organize an appointment with their specialist for June!!!! After three weeks I did not hear back from them! I have now written a letter to him and will await response and post here

After sending 3 times an email to Frank Stuenzli, i called him and he said he had not received anything from me.
Null customer service or concern for the effects of their products. Stay away from this! My face is a little less swollen but i still like look worst than before.

Hi, sorry this has happened to you. How is your face now ? Has the swelling gone? Are you experiencing any other side effects? I am considering skinboosters but your post has got me thinking......

Hi Odette, thanks! Swealling going down day by day but really no changes on skin quality. I have meet another couple of women who tried this and quite frankly do not look any better.
If i would be you i would stay away from it. Try something that will help own regeneration like micro needling or PRP. I will never ever try this product. Worst for me is the attitude from Galderma. They just said now that my doctor is their client and not me.
Good luck with your treatment!

Hi Reyna , thank you for your response. The reason why I was thinking of this treatment is because it promises a better skin structure. I had 1 session of dermapen needling over a year ago which completely ruined my skin structure, leaving me with enlarged holes, and many cheeck wrinkles and scratch marks. So will be staying away from microneedling. Don't want to do laser or tca peels cause been reading some pretty horrific reviews. Was hoping skin boosters may be the answer.... You mentioning that the company is not taking any responsibility towards you as a customer has got me worried, this is the world turned upside down, they should be taking responsibility and try to assist you in finding out what went wrong and how to fix this. A company that treats their customers as non customers is in my book a no go.
I am glad for you that the swelling is gradually going down and I hope that your skin will turn to normal soon .

Galderma is not interested to even know what may have caused my allergic reaction!
This is the letter I have received from Galderma in which they decline all responsibility and show not interest to even see what has happened as a result of their product!
Dear .....
We regret to hear that you have experienced some adverse reactions following the treatment with Restylane Skin Boosters. Product related reactions have rarely been reported with Restylane products. However, as with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of adverse events which may occur after any injection; they typically resolve spontaneously a few days or weeks after injection. In very rare cases, prolonged hardening, nodules, abscess formation, greyish discoloration or discoloration may occur in the area of the treatment site. These reactions may develop weeks or months after treatment and may last for several months. In rare cases these reactions last longer. In case of more pronounced reactions or if they last longer than a week a practitioner should be contacted.
As with any treatment, adverse reactions may occur and the treating physician cannot give any guarantee for the desired aesthetic result. Neither the health insurance company, nor Galderma does accept the costs of this treatment and any complications that need treatment. Galderma would only be liable if the product has a defect. This is not the case in the event that the patient has been informed about potential risks and adverse events and consented to the treatment. Our internal guidelines do not allow us to pay any compensation in such cases.
We can advise you to go to see Dr Colette Camenisch, FMH Plastische Chirurgie, Clinic Beethovenstrasse, Beethovenstrasse 9, 8002 Zürich, who is very much experienced with the treatment of Restylane products and could provide advice. However, please be aware that Galderma will not pay for the costs of this additional consultation.
Our vigilance department reported the details regarding the adverse reaction you experience to our safety department for further assessment.
We regret that the injections did not fulfill your expectations and hope that the swelling will subside soon.
Kind regards,
Silvia Schweickart Natalie Graf

Hi ! Hope to find you well and that the swelling has disappeared and your face looks normal again.
Very unpleasantly surprised from Galderma's response. Would expect any company that stands firmly behind their product to investigate as to why some people have side effects. Guess it is all about the money, with only a small percentage of people experiencing negative side effects, is neglectable compared to the amount of products they sell.
I had Restylane done over a year ago and the result was amazing, (but lasted only few months). I do I one small bump which is getting less but not gone yet. Was never told bumps could appear. I went to a highly respectable clinic and they did a good job BUT I was never told of any side effects, maybe a little bruising or little redness, no other side effects.
So Galderma is saying that their customers are warned of these negative side effects you are describing and we sign a waiver. But the product is sold with no potential risks or major side effects. And if this is the true, why must customers sign a waiver ?
Galderma is throwing it back at us customers or the injector to be at fault when something goes wrong.
I am sure that many people will benefit from fillers but again, more research should be done why some people have negative response to the product. And also the should attach a leaflet with the waiver form which includes any potential side effects. Then they can waive it away but from my experience, it was sold as a miracle and side effects? Nothing that wouldn't disappear in a few weeks.
Thank you for posting. After my horrible Dermapen outcome I have become so super careful.
Not gonna have skin boosters. Paranoid I ll be that 1 person where all goes wrong and than not having any support from the manufacturer is not a pleasant idea. Nope, not gonna do it.
Thank you again for sharing and hope your face is okay now.
