I had my physio appointment today. It was really helpful, especially as the physio sees lots of ladies post op and didn't seem concerned with the swelling. I did a few palates exercises and she advised how to progress the exercises during the coming weeks. The picture is of my sweetly belly when I got home :-O

Hey hun, how's the swelling coming along, hope things are starting to settle better now with the new exercises? Do you feel back to normal yet? Be great to hear how you are getting on since your physio and see some updated pics if you get the chance [RS bleep]

Hello! Sorry I've not updated in a while, been busy and away. I'll do a proper update next week. In a nutshell though, still swollen....but....definitely going down. Still delighted with results and will post some new pics next week too. I know what you mean about losing those pounds! X

You look great! You are 2 weeks ahead of me. But, at 4 weeks I'm not anywhere near standing straight and I'm winded from walking up stairs. We all heal so differently. I was in very good shape before surgery, but I need to build some stamina before exercising. Glad you are back to it!!! Happy healing:)

Life is swell!

6 weeks tomorrow since my Tummy Tuck. The tape on my scar was needing changed so thought I'd update with some pics. I'm absolutely thrilled with my results and have had no issues whatsoever with my incision and belly button; they're healing beautifully. Well, actually, I did think my BB was off centre but I think it was jut being pulled one way because it's more central now. The creases on it are diagonal too but I think they'll continue to straighten out so not concerned about that either. I do however still have a lot of swelling. I feel a lot of pressure internally and although I don't look very swollen, my waist is 2 inches more than pre-surgery and I can't fit into my jeans yet. Last week I felt so uncomfortable with the pressure that I contacted Mrs Kat's office. They arranged for me to see Mrs Kat the very next day at a different hospital...amazing customer service! She said I had a lot of swelling and that it would get better. She didn't think there was any fluid in there but she could see I was still worried about it so offered to put a needle in to double check. Of course, she was right and there was no fluid in there to be drained, just swelling. Mrs Kat was lovely and really helped put my mind at rest.

I have my complimentary physio appointment on Monday and I'm looking forward to getting some more exercises that will hopefully help to straighten me up as I've still got to consciously make myself stand up straight and not quite 100% there yet...I'm blaming the internal swelling! I'm also going to ask about these weird muscle spasms/tightenings that I get in the morning when I first move. They feel a bit like contractions; not painful though, just uncomfortable. The outside of my left thigh is still numb too although the shooting pains have almost gone :-)

I think I'm taking a little longer than others to get back to normal but I guess we're all different and I'm going in the right direction (walking, not running!) so I'm happy.

Hey bright side, you look like you are healing amazingly!!! I know you are not feeling it to much at the moment but you look so slim and shapely it really looks good! Thanks for updating it is really helpful to follow your progress. Have you tried pineapple tea ? Others on here swear by it for reducing swelling plus cutting out salt seems to help.xx

Oh I meant to ask you, do you know what your BMI was before surgery, mine is now 24.4 but I know Mrs Kat had said I would get the best results if it was about 22. Personally I don't think I will get there. Also I know if I loose that much my boobs will shrink more than I want them to and I want them to be a decent size for my breast lift.xx

My BMI was 24. Well done for getting to 24.4...it's not easy when you've not got much to lose is it! I wouldn't have wanted to be any thinner either; I was worried there wouldn't be enough skin to pull down!

Well done both of you! Can I ask what you did to prepare - was your weight steady or did you go on a diet/fitness regime?
My BMI is 26 right now and I'm really trying. Mrs Kat wants me to lose 10 pounds before my TT. Long way to go!

Hi Polly, I am also trying my best to loose some extra weight but I am also being realistic about what I will be able to maintain afterwards. I am planning for my surgery to happen in Jan, like you I felt it would be too much in the summer months with the binder and getting hot! I am seeing her in Oct so I plan to ask her then about doing a last ditch attempt to loose the extra, maybe do a protein only diet for 6 weeks to get the extra fat off. I'll have to see what she says xx

I was on the 5:2 diet. I got on really well with it and it totally fitted in with my lifestyle. There are health benefits to it too, it's like a reset button for your body. I wouldn't say the weight falls off you like some diets promise but I lost weight every week.

I haven't tried the pineapple tea, I didn't realise there was such a thing! I eat fresh pineapple though and also take bromelain every day. I'm on low salt too...definitely notice a difference if I do have salt! Actually, my tummy's starting to change a little bit, it's not so egg shaped and feels a little softer so hopefully the swelling has had its peak. I also don't feel as stuffed...happy days!!

Hellooo :-)) You probably think I'm just saying this but I'm not!!... your job is fantastic. (You've got beautiful skin by the way!) I can see by your back that you're not upright yet. I found that my lower back looked quite rigid during my 'bent' stage. Now it's softened and the natural curve has returned. So it will for you very soon. The scar is going to disappear to nothing, it's fantastic already. You look amazing and your shape is really good!! Xx

You look incredible! Just think when the swelling stops how tiny you will be!

Not much has changed really. I'm still swollen, it's like that stuffed feeling when you've eaten way too much. I've got micropore tape on my scar now that I replace when it's hanging off, although the nurse did say that if it's still on after a 3 week stretch, to replace it. I'm still not upright yet either, it still feels very tight above my belly button but I feel I am getting straighter. My tummy is still mostly numb too, which feels a bit weird, especially when putting iodine on my belly button. The outside of my left thigh is still numb too. However, on a positive note, the shooting pains have eased off a little and only cause pain when I lie flat and straighten my leg. I drove too for the first time yesterday, only a couple of miles but it was so great to be out. All in all, I think I'm healing as well as I can be and I'm just waiting for the swelling to go now. I work from home so I've been doing some work too...from my bed! I actually have loved my bed, we managed to get a single electric bed that has been absolutely brilliant. It was only £50 from eBay so if you have the room for it, I would certainly recommend one.

I've booked for November. Ages away, but it gives me time to slowly shift the stone I want to lose. Its staying off this time! I also couldnt bear to be in a binder in the warmer months of the year!! I was a bit panicked about that! Im getting my head around it all now, thanks to posts like yours. Thank you!!
