Sliced During Dermaplaning

So this pic is from my dermaplaning experience yesterday at a top medispa near me. She had just started and then I felt a total OUCH! I was nervous as is to have a scalpel near me then within a minute of starting she sliced a bump, pimple maybe. She blotted it and kept going of course I couldn't see what it looked like. She finished the treatment and every once and awhile blotted the spot as I kept saying it was stinging. No apologies she just hummed along and said "oh yeah caught a bump there." Seriously? I know there is risk, but to act like this is ok and no apology
. Nor did I get a discount. I didn't even realize how the spot was until I got home. Should I call them and mention this? Who does this and then doesn't make it right somehow? :(

That's terrible. No apology, not even acknowledgement that this was a less than ideal experience?

Please get in touch with the owner. I'm starting to feel like spas and I van doctors get away with totally screwing up and doing nothing to mitigate the damage--whether serious, long lasting harm (like the review in here if someone who found 3rd degree burns days later after removing dressings--for real, third-degree burns; ultherapy damage,) to getting zilch, nothing not one bit of change after spending $4000--that was my experience with someone obviously inexperienced with Ultra Shape and Vela Shape, and there are so many more stories about this.

Please don't let this go. She cut you. It's not a little tiny thing. It also caused unnecessary pain. You've got the photo. If they do not refund your money, go after them by reporting them to a government agency that should be looking out for the consumer with these types of places. They're supposed to be professionals--hold them accountable.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

Thank you. I did end up calling and writing a complaint. They refunded my money but she still excused the cut as something that can normally happen and blamed it on my skin!

I'm glad you did that and that you hot a refund.

Of course! It's your skin--certainly not a thing to do with operator error.

The woman who owned the med spa where I got zero results from ultra shape and Vela Shape 3 told me that I am the only person to have had such an experience, but that they had also sent the vela shape machine back to the manufacturer. Oh, okay, I guess she did that just for kicks, then. And nobody, not one person that she was ever aware of had no results at all--just me. Sure.

I'm glad you got some action. You should feel at least somewhat vindicated.

Now, review them on Yelp and everywhere else you can. You should not have had to ask for them to right that wrong. Let others know not to take their defective skin to such a place where they obviously cannot choose the right candidates for procedures. Seriously--if it was your skin, she should have been able to ascertain that beforehand. Review them everywhere.

Indeed! These people need to be held accountable. They all say "your the perfect candidate " " This treatment is perfectly safe!" "The results will be amazing!" Etc etc... Then so many are left damaged and or with no results and out of pocket . They cover themselves with having you sign wavers typically. Sadly this practice of making money over the safety and wellness of human beings is more important. They do say greed is one of the seven deadly sins!

Tried again and have been pleased

Went a couple more times with success and no cuts thankfully. Pleased with how it’s made my skin feel. Just wish it wasn’t so expensive. Would do more often otherwise

I literally took fine grit sand paper to my face and it made an amazing difference to the size of my pores and fine lines. I noticed a moderate difference to the acne scars on my chin- will probably redo my chin soon. Anyway, it's a riskier but very cheap alternative.
I also put piles on polysporin on during the first few days post-sanding and I think it helped speed my recovery.
