Here I am, the eve before my procedure.

I am a mom of 2 kidlets, both of whom were breastfed and was in need of some recovery to my once perky, but smaller breasts. I had thought about getting a boob job since my 20's and after my kids, finally decided to just do it. Went for my consultation with Dr. Ward in Surrey, BC.

To my surprise, Dr. Ward suggested I get a lift along with implants. I had not even thought of (or researched) a lift. He says I was borderline - gave me a quote with and without but could not 100% guarantee that the implants without the lift wouldn't just make me look like I had bigger, but saggy breasts! He was very informative, showed me pics of similar breasts to mine with before and afters and told me the decision was solely mine. He would do gel either way, but if I did the implant only, he would not be able to go fully under the muscle (like I had hoped for) and would do a dual-plane procedure which is half under and half on top.

After going home and discussing with my hubby, I opted to go for the lift as well. As my hubby pointed out, I would be pretty upset if I got it done and then was unhappy with the result (and paid all that money! It was $8k without the lift).

I'm a little nervous about the incision, with an implant it would have been just the cut under the breast. With an implant, it's a full anchor type incision. The only good out of this is that my doctor said he would make my areolas smaller, since breastfeeding had stretched them out a bit.

When I went in for my consult and tried on the prosthetics, I thought 300CC would do. But at my pre-op, after reading so much about boob greed, I decided to go with 330CC. My doctor is ordering 3 sizes, since he will not know how much to replace after he finished with the lift.

I've tried not to think much about any of this for the past few weeks so as to not get too anxious or nervous......I think it's finally starting to hit me. My goal is to update each day, as I found those posts so helpful during my own research.

4 hours post surgery

So I was woken up after surgery, felt like being woken up during a really good nap!! As I came around, I was suddenly wide awake. The nurses were super surprised as to how awake and alert I was, says it didn't even seem like I had had surgery!! After 25 mins of staring at the walls, I asked if I could possible have my phone. They brought it right away and I started updating everyone!

Everything seemed to have gone smoothly. I didn't have any pain when I woke, now I'm still pretty fine when sitting. When I stand up though I feel a bit of discomfort on my rib cage on the one side. I've set up all my alarms to stay on top of my meds, first does of Ibuprofen is in two hours. I'm hoping if I can keep on them, I can keep the pain at bay like it is now but I know that's probably really wishful thinking!!!

I got dressed within an hour and got to sit in a chair and have a few freezies! The nurses were so sweet and helpful. I felt so comfortable the entire time I was there. All the staff were incredible.

I'm now relaxing in my recliner. Started to get a bit drowsy but then I got really hungry!! Had a few crackers and that just wasn't cutting it! I'm now about to mow down on perogies!!! 24 hours with no food was killer!!

Will update later tonight if anything changes or tomorrow morning.
