Hey Isabelle, Dr. Boahene is a very good doctor. He has studied ethic rhinoplasty extensively and he truly has a passion for it. He helps people achieve natural realistic goals. I think the few bad reviews that I read about him were related to the scheduling department. I like him because he is honest and realistic and most importantly has GIFTED HANDS AND AN EYE FOR BEAUTY!

Best surgeon for african american rhinoplasty!!!
Dr. Boahene has gifted hands! He has changed my life and restored my confidence. He was clear about the procedure and beliefs in realistic natural looking results. He knows everything about the anatomy of the nose as well which is key because He restores function and aesthetics together!!! Not to mention I underwent this procedure AWAKE! Just local anesthetic...he knows his landmarks when it comes to numbing!! As a fellow doctor, I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a honest, hardworking, talented surgeon! 10/10!!!!!

I'm also interested in seeing pictures. I don't have social media so I'm not sure how to do the best research.

How long did it take for your swelling to stay down? I'm 3.5 months post op and my swelling is so up and down.

It took me a good 8 months I'd say, it depends on your skin thickness. Dr Boahene told me from the beginning to expect the nose to swell back and forth for about a year. Did you follow up with steroid shots?

Oh ok. Thanks. I'm going for a follow up appointment in about two weeks. I'm going to ask my doctor for a steroid shot. Did you have one? Are they painful?

Yes I have had two doses of the kenalog steroid shots and it is painful but it's quick and temporary

Oh ok. Did you see a noticeable change in swelling? If so, how long did it last? Thanks so much for answering my questions. This journey has been so up and down for me.

Yes I have seen noticeable changes with the steroid injections. Overall I am very happy with the results of the surgery. I have a friend who is a doctor who gives me the steroid shots so I plan to keep him back until I am satisfied
