Sutures removed after keloid excision

Okay so I had my sutures removed today. I had two more sessions of radiation since my last update but didn't post any more pictures because there weren't any changes.
I hadn't seen my incision until today because it was still covered by the sterile strips that were put on after the excision of the keloid. It was a little painful on the left side but mostly I just felt tugging everywhere else when the long suture was being removed.. It has healed very nicely according to the doctor. I still have a very dark line where the skin is like a scab over the incision but that's from the radiation treatment. The radiation oncologist warned me that I would possibly experience some itching, burning, oozing and redness at the site where the radiation was aimed.
I still have a little soreness on the incision site on the left side..but not much.
Sooo happy with the results and as for the parts that were left (belly button and two sides) I will be receiving a steroid and chemotheraputic mixture in an injection for those. Dr. called it kenalog 40mg steroid and 5-FU 50mg combination that he will start treating within a month. His explanation for not removing the ends was that there was not much skin to connect...it was too thin or just not enough....this is why he feels the injections will benefit me better. The belly button he felt was to invasive and would rather inject than try to remove.
My appointment already set and should see results within 6 weeks...although he says it possible to get the injections once a month for 1 year he's hopeful that I won't have to do that...
I am posting pictures of what it looks like today and will update until it has healed completely.
I sure hope that these posts help someone else because like I mentioned in a previous post.....there was no information available for me during my research on the issue...thanks for listening and I will keep updating until this part of my journey is finished!

Keloid removal surgery

Well I had my keloid removed on 2/19/19. I awoke to find that it was not totally removed and as of today no explanation why! I am both happy and at the same time sad. I was really hoping to be done with this pain and agony.
I did my first radiation treatment on yesterday and have 2 more to do on Friday and Monday. I have a 1 week follow up with..not my doctor but a replacement so I'm hoping to get my questions answered but not too optimistic on that happening at this point.
If you are wondering...yes! Insurance did cover the cost of the removal!!

Keloid Scar time to go!!

I wanted to do this update because like me...I am sure there are others out there who are searching for a solution to a keloid scar issue but there is not much information on this topic.

In 12 hours I will finally have this horrible keloid scar excised!!! Yeah!!! I have waited so long for this and suffered through the pain, drainage and itching of this scar. It has grown more since I posted those pictures of it back in 2015. Since then I have researched and seen at least 3 or more PSs with no hope of getting it removed. Most wanted to do injections of which I was not interested! I have keloids that are much smaller and have been getting them injected for years... no can do on this one! Finally I found a PS that could excise my keloid and do radiation treatments on it immediately afterwards that could keep it from returning. You have to have a PS that knows how to close the incision with the correct stitching also, that's very important in the process as well. So on 2/19/19 at 12 noon my keloid will be removed!!!!
I am posting pictures of how it looks now and will post pictures of it after the removal and throughout the radiation treatment process.

Okay the last picture turned upside down, don't know why...sorry about that...I hope you can view it anyway.

My procedure will be done by Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi. After meeting him (Yvonne), I knew that he was the one that I wanted to do my sx. I had read about him, and also knew someone personally who had the same procedure done 4 years ago and she is very happy with her experience and results of her TT. I felt confident and at ease about the procedure after speaking to Dr. Ahmadi. He explained the procedure for me when I asked him and answered all of my questions.
