8 Days Post Op - Finally Swelling is Down.
I havent updated in a while but mostly due to being so uncomfortable with the swelling, especially on days 3 and 4 (swelling was so bad in my cheeks that it was hard to recognize my own face).
I can finally say that its not so bad anymore and I am starting to see my old self again! Phew, it was kinda rough. I uploaded a collage of pictures to show of days 3/4.
Last night was the first night I didnt sleep upright and it honestly didnt feel as comfortable. I just felt like my nose was really stuffed and my lips were so dry from my mouth being open while sleeping. Today, I purchased some nasal spray and it really helped to clear up my nose.
I also wore some lipstick yesterday where I used a lip liner and slightly overdrew. I have attached a photo comparing before lip lift smile with overdrawn lip stick and a post lip lift picture of lips in relaxed pose. I cant smile yet. I will do a comparison smile once I can smile again.

Day 2 Post Op - Swelling slowly moving from lips to cheeks.
Today I woke up with chipmunk cheeks. Its been a little discouraging due to how much I have been swelling up as I have seen reviews of others who barely did. But I contacted Elisa, who is Dr. Horndeski's assistant, and asked her if there is anything I can do to help reduce the swelling. She basically informed me that the swelling is nothing to be worried about and the best thing I can do right now is to continue to elevate and sleep sitting up. I did again last night and once again it was surprisingly comfortable (I have basically built a fort of pillows with pillow arm rests and all!).
I will say it seems that has helped as the swelling from yesterday compared to today has definitely reduced in my lips. My cheeks are bigger for sure and my nose is still very wide and swollen, but I think my nose seems a little better than yesterday. My one concern so far with my nose is that it also seems to be pulled down. Not sure if thats normal? Basically it seems my nose and my upper lip is now lower on my face. I will give it some time as I am sure the swelling could have a lot to do with that.
Overall, I have no complaints about the wound/scar as its still so early (only second day after surgery) and in my opinion it looks pretty decent and is healing well.
Eating continues to be hard and I haven't been able to brush my teeth since my upper lip has pretty much dropped down and is covering my teeth. Its driving me crazy. I plan on going to the store and getting a children's toothbrush with a smaller head to get in there easier.
Overall, pain has reduced though I am still taking pain medication just not as frequent. Skin is feeling really tight and I am still not able to talk much at all. I'm really looking forward to when I no longer feel as swollen and can instead start obsessing over the scar haha.
Let me know if any of you have any specific questions you would like me to answer, I'll be happy to do so. I attached a few progress photos of today as well.

Day After Surgery Update
Today my upper lip and nose are extremely swollen. I did manage to sleep upright last night and get some decent sleep in but I still feel a lot of pressure in my lip and nose. The pain has been a lot better today though. I had one hydrocodone pill this morning at 7am and was good for hours after that. I was also able to eat a bit more today. I had some vegetable soup.
I also showered around 24 hours after the surgery and it seemed to increase the pain a bit as my skin was feeling stretched since I wasn't able to moisturize. Thats when I took some more pain medication.
I took a closer look at my scar and considering its only the next day after surgery, it looks pretty good. I noticed some liquids oozing out from one of my nostrils but nothing that looked too concerning. I also have a slight bump on left side of my nose. Not sure what that is but I am just going to give it some time and see what happens over the next few weeks.
Added some more photos of today.
