One Month Post Op
I am thrilled! Tomorrow will be one month recovery and for the first time, I am beyond excited about the results. I was told I will "shrink" even more. I was put into a different, smaller compression garment and started scar therapy. The garment is very tight, but really helps my posture. It has provided great shaping also. I purchased medical grade scar tape from the office. I can already see progress after 24 hours of use. I was told to use scar therapy for a month or two, depending on results. This surgery requires not only a physical recovery, but at times, psychological (self-esteem) challenges. Do I feel the the money and recovery has been worth it? You bet your sweet bippy I do! :-). I am pretty much back to my regular life, except for work. I go back in August. I am walking for exercise, driving, running errands, shopping, etc. My body tells me when I'm doing too much by swelling and soreness. My energy level is back about 75%. Of course, physically speaking, I still have room for improvement. I'm still interested in a possible breast lift. My flatter tummy has accentuated my need to work off my back fat and trim up my thighs, but I will accomplish this all in good time. This surgery has increased my motivation to do so. My next follow up is in August. I gave my doctor a hug and thanked him profusely. Dr. Jaffer and his staff are wonderful people.
15 days Post Op
Today I felt ready to really get out of the house and go for a walk, which my ps cleared me to do. It was storming all day, so I could not go to the park. Hubby loaded up my walker and we went to the mall. I'm still hunched over, but the walker helped me get a lot of walking in today. No pain from doing so, but quite a bit of exhaustion and belly swell hell. It was soooo worth it! I was so tempted to try on some things, but know it's not realistic at this point. It was a nice time out with my husband and therapeutic to move about and shop.
Two Weeks Post Op
Tomorrow will be two weeks since my TT was performed. Had a PS appointment yesterday and all is well. BB stitches removed and permission granted to resume my long walks through the park (my favorite exercise), but he stressed that I listen to my body and stop when needed. I spent he day out running to errands and appointments with my husband so I was sore last night, but it was tolerable once I took a pain pill. I still walk like a T-Rex most of the time, but I'm feeling good. I can now fit into my jeans again but expect that they will end up loose on me because Dr. Jaffer stated I'm still very swollen and I won't see full results until about three months after surgery. His staff is amazing and supportive. I'm attaching photos from this morning, along with a before and after. Thanks and hugs to you, the RS community, for keeping my spirits up while I was discouraged last week. You are beautiful ladies, inside and out.
