Day 8

I've been so busy preparing my move to New York so this update is a little delayed..
Day 3 and 4 (Saturday and Sunday) after the procedure were the most uncomfortable for me. It was mainly due to the yeast infection and the swelling/soreness of my new vagina.
On day 5 (Monday), I felt much better, the yeast infection was gone. The swelling went down a lot!!
On day 6 the first stitches started to dissolve, what a relief!!! Haha
Yesterday, on my new vaginas first week anniversary, I had my check up, the doctor was very happy with the result and how well it looked after only a week!!! It's still swollen quite a bit but I'm only on day 8 so it's still very early in the healing process.
I haven't taken any pain meds since Tuesday (day 6). I'm very happy with the results!! Every time I get the chance I look at myself in the mirror and can't believe that this is the "new me"... This sounds so silly but I'm hoping you can relate... :)
Everyone heals differently and on their own pace - although I'm one of the luckier ones without major swelling and bruising and pain, I wouldn't say that this procedure is a "walk in the park". I hope it will continue to heal well without any complications.

Day 4 post surgery

Yesterday was the most uncomfortable day so far. The swelling increased, it felt super itchy plus I couldn't figure out if my growing hair or the stitches cause these little stinging pains... After I saw some white discharge I knew where the itching came from. Yeast infection. I didn't take antibiotics but it can still happen and gladly I was prepared, I applied some canesten right away. This took quite a while lol... I don't want my fingers to come close to the stitches yet so it was quite challenging to spread the lips to apply the cream... Thank god no one saw this lol...
Today I feel better already. A very slight itching is still there but I guess that's due to the healing process. I haven't had any white discharge since I started applying Canesten. The stinging is more challenging right now. I was prepared and I knew the stinging will start a few days after surgery but... wow... This is no joke!! Some girls say that shaving brought them some relief but I'm afraid to shave yet... So I guess I'll just have to wait a few more days until the hair gets longer and the stitches start to dissolve.
As you can see, so far everything is healing normally, everything I'm experiencing is what most others go through during the first week.

Day 2 post surgery

This is day 2 after the surgery.
Last night I didn't feel like I needed an Ibuprofen because I absolutely didn't feel any pain so I went to sleep only with an ice pack. I slept all night. No pain or discomfort. I can sleep on my stomach as well as on my side.
Today I woke up and went to work, before I left I took an Ibuprofen - just in case.
I feel like the little swelling I had has gone down a bit, I can see the stitches better now.
Sometimes I can feel a little itch, I guess that's a good sign.
I'm still taking Arnica every hour and cover my vagina with a sterile gaze. Besides that I'm not using any antibiotic ointment, cremes or baths....
I don't think I need it - everything looks good and it's only 2 days after the surgery!
