I have struggled with Acne for 5 years now....

I have struggled with Acne for 5 years now. Nothing has been working for me. I have tried everything from systemic antibiotics to topical ointments, etc. I've tried getting treated by estheticians, facials, microdermabraision, chemical peels, diet changes, etc. I saw my dermatologist today, I went with the intention of asking him to start me on Accutane, but I did not have to, he suggested it! I am so excited and scared at the same time. I got all my lab work done today. I will go back in one month and take a second pregnancy test. I really hope this works for me because I have been trying everything for acne with no success. It is mild now, but It has been really bad before, as a results I have a lot of hyper-pigmentation that have gotten lighter because of my peels.
My acne has caused a lot of distress to me. I am very confident person, however, sometimes I feel like people are staring at my pimples.
I have read all the risks and side-effects of the medication, it sounds really scary. I will plan on going to the gym and eat healthy for the duration of the therapy in order to minimize the damages to my body hopefully.
I am a nurse, currently working fulltime and attending grad school part-time, I am nervous about next semester since accutane can cause concentration issues and depression. I will be documenting my experience and will let you know how it works.

Ipledge received today

I should be getting my second pregnancy test in about two weeks in order to get started with accutane. I am posting some pictures that I took recently. My acne is very sporadic, it occurs on random areas of my face. My nose and my chin seem to be mostly affected.

Started first dose today

Okay. So I took my first dose of Amnessteem today. My doctor prescribed 20mg capsules for a total of 60mg daily. My out of pocket cost was $533.41 after my insurance picked up $828.48. That's a lot of money but I don't mind spending that when I look at the light at the end of the tunnel.
I have decided to take this semester off from grad school due to the fact that I'm planning my wedding and don't want to be too stressed out, especially when accutane may also cause some concentration issues. I did not want to take chances.
Wish me luck y'all! I'm planning on posting weekly updates every Monday.

I have also picked up a few vitamins per some research I made. Milk thistle (liver health), vitamin E, Calcium, fish oil. I also bought some Gatorade and smart water to help with hydration.
