Starting my Mommy Makeover Process

I am a mom of 6 children ranging in age from 16 months to 17 years old. I have been dreaming of this mommy makeover since probably right after my 2nd child was born, so at least 15 years now. I don't have some grand plan of becoming someone new and different, I just want my old body back. After meeting with Dr Amalfi, we agreed that as long as I didnt want to be bigger, we could just do a lift. I am currently a C cup and I am completely content with that. She described that she would fold the skin from the underside of my breast into itself so it is tucked inside instead of being removed, which would consequently result in smaller breasts, so with this method that wont happen. I like that if in the future I feel I should get implants I can then. I am most excited about the tummy tuck. having a flat tummy again is going to be amazing. I will be able to wear fitted dresses and shirts, I wont have to wear high waisted bathingsuit bottoms anymore (even though they are in style and was a great way to kill 2 birds with one stone). Dr Amalfi answered all my questions including giving me information on expectations. I am currently asymmetrical in my breast size and shape, and it could end up like that after as well. We also discussed my existing hernia, and what sometimes happens after surgery depending on how the hernia is attached to my bellybutton can determine what will happen to my new bellybutton. I appreciate that she was willing to give me the worst case scenarios and talk through my feelings on them. I am just happy to think that after 18 years of having my mom bod, I will feel confident and content with my new body. I'm not going into this thinking my whole life will be different, its just getting rid of an anxiety I have had for a long time. I expect to still look just like me to an average person, but get to feel confident when I am naked or in a bathingsuit!

That is exactly how I felt. I just want to be able to get undressed and not cringe at my sad belly! You deserve it after carrying your babies :-)

I am finally getting close to my surgery date! I have been saving all year and still feel so far away from having all my payment together. I’m getting a cash discount so I can’t finance or I will add that savings back on and then some for changing my form of payment. Hoping I don’t have to push my date. Either way, I am ready to post some before pictures as I don’t think my body size will be changing. I was hoping to lose another 5ish pounds before the surgery but I have stayed consistent all year at about 150.

I just wrote a comment to you and it disappeared! Anyways, I wanted to say good luck to you and I'll be following your journey! Six kids, wow! I have two, 16 and 22 years old so I'm ready for this next stage. I am scheduled for my tummy tuck in February. I won't lie and say I'm not scared about the recovery but I'm very excited to have a flat stomach! I had a breast fat transfer two years ago which increased my cup size from a B to C so no implants for me. That's awesome you are paying in cash. You will definitely save money that way and no bills to pay off! I will be following your journey!

Pre-op appt is this Wednesday, and I am currently 23 days away from surgery. I have a list of questions which I’m hoping most will be covered before I get the chance to ask them bc it is quite long right now. Any suggested questions just too see if I missed anything?
