Sex after hysterectomy is great!

Went for my 6 week check up the other day. Doctor said everything was fine and he gave me the all clear to have sex again. Woohoo!

I didn't know what to expect. What's sex going to feel like with no uterus? What will it be like for my husband? I couldn't find anything online that discussed this. I had also asked my doctor to tighten me up while he was fixing me up. Did he make me too tight ? Not tight enough? I read numerous posts that women said they were in pain during sex after a hysterectomy so I was worried. I was more nervous about having sex now than my first time.

Well, my husband was very understanding. We took our time and used plenty of lubricant. I read online the best lubricant to use is KY Ultragel. Think I'm going to have to buy it by the case! LOL! The sex was amazing! It's hard to put into words. It felt different but it was nice. The vaginal tightening really made a difference I think. I'm so glad I asked the doctor to do it.

My doctor's surgical skills are awesome! Not only did I have very little pain after my girly parts were removed and he reconstructed my inside anatomy but he tightened me just enough so that sex would be enjoyable again. I would highly recommend him to any females who want a compassionate, knowledgeable and excellent pelvic reconstructive surgeon.

1 month post op (hysterectomy, bladder sling, etc)

It was 1 month yesterday. You know what the worst part of the surgery has been? The damn dissolvable stitches on the 5 incisions on my belly! I've been putting Palmer's Moisturizing Body Oil on the incisions because they hurt and they're itchy. The oil is also making the the scars less prominent. But I wish the stitches would dissolve already! Got 3 more to go.

Other than that, I think I'm doing fine. Still taking it pretty easy, though. Just don't feel quite myself yet. My insides still feel weird. Get tired and worn out easily. Hope I start to have more energy soon. Not looking forward to going back to work next month. I have such a hard time getting myself together in the mornings now. Can't imagine having to rush around getting ready for work feeling like this.

Passed another blood clot :(

Last night I started spotting. Read some reviews that said you can spot 4-6 weeks after a hysterectomy so I wasn't as freaked out as I was the other day when blood was gushing out of me . This morning when I pee'd, there was a small clot in the toilet. Only about 1/2 inch in diameter. Very small compared to the one the other day which was about 3 inches in diameter.

I'm not going to bother calling the doctor this time. I'm just going to do what he told me last time: wash my vagina well and spend the day in bed.

Boy, this surgery is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be! Still can't believe I'm not in pain considering I'm getting these blood clots. Hopefully, this will be the last one.

I'm so glad I went to Dr. Hines to have my girly parts removed and the rest of me restored back into place. He is very knowledgeable in female uro/gyn problems. No female likes to be discussing urine/fecal incontinence with anyone. It's kind of embarrassing to bring up to your doctor. And yet, Dr. Hines put me at ease right away. I felt comfortable being honest with him. He has an easy demeanor and a great sense of humor, which is important to me. He is very well respected in his field in my city and I knew I wanted him to fix me up. It's been a week since my surgery and I couldn't be happier with how I'm feeling and Dr. Hines' surgical skills. He is awesome! I highly recommend him!
