Lower Bleph with Fat Repositioning and Laser Resurfacing - St. Louis, MO
As some of you know this was my 2nd lower bleph. ...
As some of you know this was my 2nd lower bleph. The first one was two years ago and the results weren't that good. I still had the indentation in the tear trough on both eyes. I should have had fat repositioning under my eyes at the time. It was never mentioned as an option to me. The last thing I wanted was to do another surgery. I also had a great deal of wrinkling due to the fat bag removal. When I asked about these things with the first doctor it was more or less "after the fact" and would require more surgery.
Fast forward two years, I started researching tear trough injections. I saw Dr. Nayak on the local news and was intrigued at how he performed this procedure. He was different from other doctors. He used a cannula and the results were amazing. I had the first procedure done in June. It requires two appointments. So a few weeks later I went back for a second session. After lengthy conversations with Dr. Nayak and his nurses we discussed that laser resurfacing would be about the only thing to rid my eyes of the added wrinkles. Also, he said that he would be able to do the fat repositioning for the tear trough indention all at the same time. I hadn't really even thought about doing surgery again, so I went home to think about it some more before committing. I came back to Real Self to do some more research and found all positive feedback on Dr. Nayak. Financially I hadn't wanted to invest in another surgery, however, I knew I had to do something more permanent.
I took pictures before the surgery, but realize that they are a little blurry. I will get copies of the doctors pictures to use as well. The surgery was 4 days ago. It went very smoothly. No pain at all. Took all the medications and followed all of the doctors instructions. The 'after' pictures are a little different than my first time since there is redness due to the laser resurfacing. The black marks are from the sharpie the doctor used to mark the areas under my eyes. I have to clean with water under my eyes 3 to 4 times a day and reapply the Vaniply (similar to Vaseline). I have iced and slept in a recliner for the last three days. Everything seems to be going well. I have a little tummy tenderness due to the fat removal in that area. Makes me wished I had liposuction now, LOL!
Progressing very well!
I am so impressed that I haven't really seen any swelling. This is way different from my surgery 2 years ago. I've followed the same post-op directions too. Yes, I have redness, but it doesn't bother me too much. As soon as the peel is complete (another day or 2) I can cover the pinkness with makeup. Last time I had swelling and lumps. That is not easy to cover with make up.
I had my follow up with the doctor today. Everything is going well. He said I will see 80% overall improvement with wrinkles and bags. Right now I see a lot more than that, but as we all know things take time. I'm adding a 'before' picture that they took prior to my surgery. I am SO glad I decided to go see Dr. Nayak and have him do the surgery. I will keep updating.
