Oh My Gosh.....I can't believe I am actually doing this. I already cancelled once but with reassurance from the doctor rescheduled. My breasts are large and heavy due to fibrocystic disease and after having a lot of back pain and headaches and neck pain it finally occurred to me that it might be my big ol breasts. I have watched my mother suffer all her life especially with neck pain and I am built like her. I never put it together....Duh! You could use the giant grooves in my shoulders for pencil holders....lol! Soooo I went to the doctor who applied to my insurance company and low and behold they came through on it. If I had any advice about what I've been through so far it would be to write down your questions before you go to the Doc. Don't be like me who reenacted the scene from "A Christmas Story" where the kid is going to see Santa specifically to ask for a Red Rider bb gun, freezes up and dully agrees to a football. This was basically what lead me to cancel the first time....I panicked and felt too stupid and embarassed to call and ask for yet another appt. because I simply didn't ask the questions I needed answers to. I mean seriously...the doctor looked right at me and asked if I could think of any other questions I might have....I looked him right in the eyes and said..."nope'. I then went home didn't sleep all night and cancelled my surgery the next morning. Luckily the doc called me about something else and we started talking, I felt better and back on the schedule I went. I am still nervous.....anyone else feeling like that? BTW...the cost posted for this reduction is made up because I don't know yet and it won't let you post without it.

I'm glad you changed your mind! It's the best thing I have ever done for myself! You have lots of people here that are behind you and ready to share/answer any questions you may have? 4 days to go :) AWESOME! Let us know how you make out. I'm sending good vibes your way and I'll keep you in my thoughts on Thursday! What size would you like to be in the end? You won't regret this. The only thing I regretted was not having done this 25 years ago!

You are going to do great! We are the same height/weight/breast size. I am now almost 2 weeks post op and SO SO happy I did it! Right when I came out of recovery I immediately felt the lightness of my chest! You will be SO happy with a smaller chest!! Looking forward to seeing your posts :). Good luck!!

I went from DDD to a large B small C and I'm thrilled. I was so worried about going through this and not being as small as I wanted. It is the main complaint I read from women on this site. Women also talk about gaining breast tissue as you age and I didn't want to be unhappy again in a few years! I'm only 5'3" as well. I would tell your PS not to go any bigger than a Small c.

good luck, a pillow for the seatbelt on the ride home and prune juice to prevent post op constipation are a real help.

I just went to your blog and your boobies look great! I hope mine look that good. I had a chuckle because I do with hamburger meat what you did with chicken...lol! I had a panic attack because the doctor said he had to remove a pound from each breast...it seemed like so much. I want smaller boobs but I don't want to be left with nothing. I think my surgeon had to stifle a laugh when I expressed this concern. He gently explained to me that one pound would not even get me to a dd or maybe even a d....hahahah. You are right, taking the boob selfie is very eye opening. Thanks for the tips, although I have already heard of the dreaded post op constipation, I would not have thought to bring a pillow. Thanks again

Had surgery this morning went really well and so far the pain is minimal. I was super nervous but I had a great team taking care of me. The pain is a little more intense as time passes and I'm wondering if that will continue? I'm a little worried that I didn't go small enough but I guess we'll see. Just wanted ti give a little update to you awesome gals! Take care

Thank you so much....I woke up from anesthesia with no nausea and minimal pain. The Vicodan is doing a nice job but definitely starts wearing of about an hour before I can have more. That's where the ice packs come in. One of the ladies on the blog site told me to bring a pillow for between me and the seat belt for the ride home....excellent advice. Good luck on Tuesday....I'll be thinking of you.

Congratulations. This is not a very painful surgery in many cases, i was off all pain meds by 28 hrs post op and it is great if you don't need them as they have nasty side effects.
