Provider Review
As a precursor, I have hated my ankles since the first day I knew I had ankles. Really though.. I HATED them. Every pair of shoes I ever bought had to be carefully examined to make sure they weren’t cutting my legs off even more than my ankles already were. No strappy around the ankle shoes, no narrow boots, and most definitely no booties. As a 32 year old woman, I finally decided to scour the internet in search of a remedy. Eveytime I would search, the first thing to come up was the Laser Lipo and Vein center, more specifically, Dr. Wright. I made the decision to get the consult. Brandy was the nurse who handled my consult, and she was great. Very kind, and great bedside manor. I immediately felt comfortable. When I met Dr. Wright, I was even further comforted. When he said he would be able to help me, I was beyond extatic. Even just an inch off the circumference would make all the difference in the world.. and it has. Surgery was April 7th, and they couldn’t have made it go more smoothly. All the nurses were so sweet, and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.. even though I was stark naked and they were sterilizing me from the waist down. That, my friends, takes skill. The surgery was nearly painless. I was surprised at how little I felt.. and how much I didn’t care about the logistics. I am not someone who does well with anything blood related, and I didn’t care one bit. (Thank you, drugs!) Sara, Jen and Amanda were so, so, so great during, and after my surgery. When they walked me out to my car, the even laughed at my stupid drugged up jokes(major points for that) , and made sure I got in the car safe and sound. (Clearly, I wasn’t driving.) Post surgery, I’d say dressing my wounds after every shower, and pulling on the compression stockings was the roughest part. I had a ton of swelling(to be expected) and the wounds had to drain before they healed. However, I had surgery on Friday.. and was back to work Tuesday. I’m a stylist, so I stand all day... it was never a problem. I think the best moment, by far, was the first day when I pulled if the bandages. Even though I was so swollen, a little bruised and leaking.. when I pulled those bandages off and saw that I ALREADY had more definition between my ankle and calf than I did before, I completely lost it. I was so happy, and this was day 1! I couldn’t believe the difference! I’ll never forget that moment. The moment I knew shoe shopping would be fun.. the moment I knew I didn’t have to buy Capri workout pants anymore.. the moment I never thought I would have. I would have that surgery 10x over without regret. It has changed my outlook on myself, and given me confidence. In a world that beats women down for the way we look, Dr. Wright and his staff are there to offer you the tools to build yourself back up. Let them. To Dr. Wright, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You don’t know what you have done for me. Thank you for being kind, empathetic, and funny. (Particularly with your surgical music choices.
