Unfortunately varicose veins run in my family, so after 5 kids my legs looked pretty awful for only being in my mid-30's. I decided to have them treated at Laser Lipo & Vein Center & the outcome was 100% successful. After 6 years I recently had to return to have more veins treated, including a painful varicose vein in my vulva region. And once again the results are wonderful. While I am still healing, I can already tell that the painful symptoms have subsided. I highly recommend using the the Laser Lipo & Vein Center & getting sclerotherapy!
As a precursor, I have hated my ankles since the first day I knew I had ankles. Really though.. I HATED them. Every pair of shoes I ever bought had to be carefully examined to make sure they weren’t cutting my legs off even more than my ankles already were. No strappy around the ankle shoes, no narrow boots, and most definitely no booties. As a 32 year old woman, I finally decided to scour the internet in search of a remedy. Eveytime I would search, the first thing to come up was the Laser Lipo and Vein center, more specifically, Dr. Wright. I made the decision to get the consult. Brandy was the nurse who handled my consult, and she was great. Very kind, and great bedside manor. I immediately felt comfortable. When I met Dr. Wright, I was even further comforted. When he said he would be able to help me, I was beyond extatic. Even just an inch off the circumference would make all the difference in the world.. and it has. Surgery was April 7th, and they couldn’t have made it go more smoothly. All the nurses were so sweet, and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.. even though I was stark naked and they were sterilizing me from the waist down. That, my friends, takes skill. The surgery was nearly painless. I was surprised at how little I felt.. and how much I didn’t care about the logistics. I am not someone who does well with anything blood related, and I didn’t care one bit. (Thank you, drugs!) Sara, Jen and Amanda were so, so, so great during, and after my surgery. When they walked me out to my car, the even laughed at my stupid drugged up jokes(major points for that) , and made sure I got in the car safe and sound. (Clearly, I wasn’t driving.) Post surgery, I’d say dressing my wounds after every shower, and pulling on the compression stockings was the roughest part. I had a ton of swelling(to be expected) and the wounds had to drain before they healed. However, I had surgery on Friday.. and was back to work Tuesday. I’m a stylist, so I stand all day... it was never a problem. I think the best moment, by far, was the first day when I pulled if the bandages. Even though I was so swollen, a little bruised and leaking.. when I pulled those bandages off and saw that I ALREADY had more definition between my ankle and calf than I did before, I completely lost it. I was so happy, and this was day 1! I couldn’t believe the difference! I’ll never forget that moment. The moment I knew shoe shopping would be fun.. the moment I knew I didn’t have to buy Capri workout pants anymore.. the moment I never thought I would have. I would have that surgery 10x over without regret. It has changed my outlook on myself, and given me confidence. In a world that beats women down for the way we look, Dr. Wright and his staff are there to offer you the tools to build yourself back up. Let them. To Dr. Wright, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You don’t know what you have done for me. Thank you for being kind, empathetic, and funny. (Particularly with your surgical music choices.
I finally decided to do something about these blue veins that encircle my left eye. To be honest, there is not a lot of information out there about this or the best ways to treat it. I have been to a few providers in the past, dermatologist, plastic surgeon, and they recommended fillers. I wanted a permanent solution. I know there are a few vein specialists that will do sclerotherapy on the face, but many are still reluctant around the eye. The other option is laser ablation, and I could not find anyone in St Louis who was doing this around the eye. So I am on vacation, and one too many people have asked me if I had a black eye, so I decided to act. I found Dr. Wright and the Laser Lipo and Vein Center. He has a video on his website treating a vein like mine. I sent a message through the website and received a quick response via email. I set an appointment for a consultation and possible procedure within a few days. I filled out the standard paperwork and was taken to a procedure room. A nurse read the disclosures to me. She was informative and reassuring. The doctor arrived in a reasonable amount of time. He was pleasant and looked at the veins in question, said I was a good candidate, and pointed out another vein on the side of my eye going to my temple he would treat as well. I said ok, so we started the procedure. I was sitting on an exam table. The procedure is not painful at all. It is a tiny little poke, a few times. I got faint at first because I was all amped up preparing for pain and then there was none. I told them and they elevated by feet and put a cold towel on my neck, and continued after I said I felt better. I probably took 15 minutes to complete. I am not sure how many syringes of sclerant were used but I know there were several lined up ready with different formulations for varying situations. I was bruised immediately. but it did not hurt too much. I slight burning and soreness was all I felt. I did not get an aftercare sheet. Which I found strange. I have been using Ice packs. I get pretty swollen throughout the day. It can take 4 weeks for the vein to collapse and disappear. 85% reduction is the "gold standard." Updated on 16 Nov 2016: It was almost invisible. Then today I can see the vein again. Still slightly bruised. Updated on 30 Nov 2016: I we t for my follow up. He wanted to do another treatment. I can't have a black eye for 3 more weeks, and I was still sore 4 weeks put from the previous treatment. I also think it is outrageous to ask for another $450 for the second d treatment... And possibly a 3rd. I was not told that I would have to pay again for each treatment. But I would not have done it anyway.
