Feb 8,2019 Cortisone Injection

TTLatina
After monitoring the scar I noticed a spot was starting to feel hard no matter the massages. Dr. Pryor and had discussed this possibility and he had advised me to monitor and call right away if I noticed scarring. I called and was given an appointment for February 8.
After checking the scar Dr. Pryor proceeded to inject scar with cortisone and given another appointment for 6 weeks 3/22/2019. I l really appreciate the open communication and proactive manner of my doctor. Some professionals after they have your money, you are no longer a priority and follow ups for minor stuff is a nuisance for them.
I will definitely choose him for other procedures. And recommend him to others.

Since he took a little bit longer than usual I decided to check out the implant size, and guess what? He decides to come in then haha!

Hi. I scar adversely and went on a journey of horrendous scarring this past summer thanks to Dr. Joshua Hyman. However, things are looking up now that I sought treatment from a way more qualified specialist. One of the things my new surgeon did was inject the scar site with 5 FU shortly after my scar revision. I have used kenalog in the past and it worked reasonably well. However, scarring re-emerges 50% of the time with it and the skin around the area that is not scarred may become indented (atrophy). I’ve learned so much about scarring over the past year and beyond, it’s crazy. I wish you the best of luck and Happy Holidays!

Also, in the future, only let a surgeon use a continuous subcutaneous sutures on you that gets pulled out in 7-14 days. I promise you won’t have the track marks. Also try stay away from dissolvable sutures. It increases chances of keloiding by 70%! Get a prescription for Triluma for the darkening. I only used it for 3 weeks with tremendous improvement. It’s very strong stuff so don’t use it too long. I hope this helps ....

My sutures were removed on Monday. I applied neosporin again today and covered the incision. It will get better as the days go by.
Patience is very crucial and is not one of my virtues.
