Some background: im 22 years old (my 23rd birthday is in 2 days), am a full time masters student and work 2 jobs. I am 5’5 and usually weigh between 130 and 135 (let’s be honest it’s on the higher end right right now because of the holiday indulging).
I’ve always been pretty athletic. I did track, volleyball, gymnastics, and cheerleading growing up. I currently enjoy weightlifting, running, and yoga. My boobs have always been an A cup, but I swear they got even smaller when I hit my 20s. I’ve alwags been the friend with the small boobs, not that it bothered me a lot, but I just felt unproportional. Ive had my nipples pierced for a couple years now to add a lil somethin :P A breast augmentation is something I’ve thought about for several years, but after graduating college I got really serious about it. My goals were to look proportional and natural.
I had my surgery this morning at 10 with Dr. Bharat Shah. We decided on 425cc moderate plus Mentor MemoryGel implants that were inserted in a dual-plane frashion (the top part of the implant was placed under the muscle to better conceal the line, bottom of the implant is not under the muscle). The staff was great, anesthesia went smoothly with no lasting nausea. I really wasn’t nervous at all strangely. I woke up feeling a lot of pressure on my chest but not much pain (maybe a 3/10), the pain slowly increased during recovery to about a 6/10, but they gave me a Percocet and Xanax and that helped a lot. I took a long nap when I got home and was able to get up and walk around and have dinner with my family around 6. The pain really isn’t bad, it is mostly pressure and soreness. I can even lift my arms above my head pretty well without pain. Walking around is no problem, I actually feel great. I’m staying on top of my pain meds and Xanax so hopefully that’ll help keep pain levels down. I’ve also been icing my chest since I got home. Here are some before and after pics from this morning. I havented posted a “with it” rating yet because it’s still very early in the process, but I’m sure it will be. Let me know if you all have questions!

Hi! I have a consult with Dr. Shah layer this month. How do you feel about your results now that it has been a bit longer. Did the drop how you anticipated.

I love my results, I think he did a fantastic job. The scar is right at my breast crease now that they dropped and only visible if I pull them up. He provided a good recommendation on size and let me know what he was comfortable doing. It was obvious that he cared and wanted to give me the best results that were right for MY body. How did your consult go??

Day 2 (1 day post op)

It is the morning after my surgery and I just had my post op appointment. Everything looks great, just minor bruising and swelling. They gave me a chest band to help push them down/help them drop a little and help with swelling. I’ve also been wearing an ice pack on my chest for most of the time when I’m at home relaxing. My pain levels have been really minimal compared to what I was expecting, maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10. It is more pressure and discomfort than anything else. I was up and about moving last night without any fatigue or shortness of breath. I was able to dress myself this morning, brush my hair, brush my teeth, and can raise my arms almost all the way above my head with no issues. They’ve given my stretching exercises to do so that my muscles don’t get too tight or stuff. I’ve noticed complete numbness on my sternum between my breasts and on the bottom half/below my breasts. They implants are sitting high and tight but surprising there’s no crazy frankenboob going on. I’ve taken my Xanax every 8 hours on the dot and Percocet every 4. It seems to be working really well. My next appointment is in 2 weeks to remove my steri-strips. I also tried on a 34D bra this morning and it fit :) I know it’s still early and there are a LOT of changes yet to happen, but it was till exciting. As always, feel free to comment with advice or questions. I know I stalked this site for months before my surgery out of nervousness.

Wow, sorry for all the typos. I was in a hurry when I wrote my review. I also forgot to mention that I have my nipples pierced! For the surgery I took out my mental rods and replaced them with short plastic ones. I’ll probably put the originals back in a couple days. I’m allowed to shower today, they said to keep water from directly hitting the incisions and to pat them dry. Luckily I washed my hair yesterday before the surgery so I won’t have to deal with that. So far so good :)

Day 2 Post Op

I know I can count myself as one of the lucky ones with how smoothly recovery is going. I am back to doing almost all of my normal activities. I can get up, shower, get dressed, drive, and get ready completely on my own. I still take it slow getting dressed so I don't pull anything, but there is almost no pain or soreness. The pressure and stiffness in my chest that I had Tuesday and Wednesday when I took deep breaths has gone away. The sensation between my breasts on my sternum is also back! The underside of both breasts remains numb, though. Overall pain level is maybe a 1/10 unless I accidentally move the wrong way.
Probably TMI but I still haven't had a bowel movement since surgery. I don't feel particularly bloated or constipated, it just hasn't happened yet even though I'm on a medication to prevent that.
On a fun note, today is my birthday and I went to the mall to try on clothes. Of course I ended up in Victoria's Secret trying on bras. Yes, there are still months and months of changes yet to happen, but I tried them on anyway. I ended up buying two 32DD front zip sports bras (on sale) that provide a lot of support and hold things in pretty nicely. It is crazy that I'd need to wear 3 of my old bras to even fill up this one. However, when I wear a t-shirt my breasts don't look overly prominent which I love. I can choose to show them off or hide them. It also seems like my breasts are softer than they were yesterday, but that could be my imagination. I'm not sure what else to report on other than the fact that I'm extremely happy with my results so far and that recovery is nearing painless. Feel free to comment with suggestions, questions, etc!
