Mondor’s Cords

Since about a week after my BA I noticed some tightness in the muscles right underneath my incisions & covering my rib cage. A couple days ago my fears were confirmed with the dreaded appearance of Mondor’s cords on both sides. They’re only painful if I stretch, but kindof a hindrance since I like to do yoga and stretch frequently. I’ve read they can last up to a couple months, but we’ll see. If any of you ladies found certain remedies helpful I’d be glad to hear them! Other than the cords I still love my breasts and feel so much more proportionate. Alsooo I ordered some Mederma silicon scar strips so we’ll see how that goes.

2 Week Update

Review:

32A to ??? (Guessing at least a D)
Hey all, it’s been a while. I had my 2 week check up today and got my steri-strips removed (thank God). She said I still had some muscle and sternum swelling (which is normal). The scars are actually very neat and clean! The nurse said I could start using vitamin E or coconut oil on them. Anyone have any recommendations for scar treatment? I’d love to hear thoughts. My weight restriction of not lifting more than 20 lbs was lifted and I’m cleared to start doing light cardio (elliptical, etc.) but no jogging just yet. That’ll come at about 4 weeks. I’m so excited to get back in the gym.
I went back to my job as a server about 8 days after my surgery. From the very beginning I had great range of motion so reaching for things wasn’t a problem. I was in decent shape before surgery and did yoga regularly, so my flexibility has always been pretty good. I didn’t lift anything very heavy and listened to my body if a certain movement felt weird or wrong. That intense burning when I move certain ways has all but gone away. It only happens if my implant gets pushed up high like if I’m laying on my chest on the floor. The numbness under my left breast still hasn’t improved. I swear you could put out a cigarette on my boob and I wouldn’t know. The nurse said the feeling should come back with time, although slowly. My breasts have become pretty sensitive, a little uncomfortably so. Funny enough, I keep bumping into things with my boobs because I’m not used to them being there. They have gotten noticeably softer, I can squish them together and they bounce if I jump up and down, but the skin is still pretty tight and a little shiny. I’m supposed to wear my surgical bra for 2 more weeks then I can wear any bra I want. I’m slowly developing body awareness and getting used to my new body. I’m starting to stretch regularly again to relieve a lot of chest/arm/back tightness I developed after surgery. Hopefully I can get full range of motion back. Sleeping on my side is mostly comfortable again. Overall I’m happy! 425cc is larger on my body than I expected, but that eliminates any boob greed I might have had lol. I feel so much more feminine in my clothes. It’s weird to think about certain things being too “revealing” or “busty” now, it’s never a problem I had to deal with. I’ll try to update every couple weeks, let me know if you guys have any questions!

Day 3 and 4 Post Op

I meant to update yesterday, but life got busy. I stopped taking my Percocet on the 4th (2 full days after surgery) since I was doing so well and to gauge my true level of discomfort. I woke up the next day pretty sore. During the night, I also started experiencing sharp pain and burning in both of my upper, outer breasts towards my armpits. This would happen when I moved certain ways. Has this happened to anyone else? I bought a wedge pillow before my surgery to keep myself elevated, but I've never been a back sleeper and it gets old after a while. Anyway, I cut my Percocet dosage into two to minimize discomfort. I still haven't had a bowel movement since Monday, and it's currently Saturday.
My thoughts are all over the place, but I also forgot to mention that I noticed air in pockets surrounding my breasts starting 1 day post op. When I push on it it sounds kindof crunchy and moves, but I've read that these pockets will go away with time.
I don't think there are any noticeable changes in my breasts as far as dropping or reduced swelling, but pictures will tell. Just patiently waiting for them to drop and fluff. Question, were anyone else's areolas really puffy after surgery? Mine have always been somewhat puffy, but now you can literally see them through bras.
