Provider Review
I saw Dr. Cho for Sculptra. I'm a 53 year old woman. I was told that on average I would need one vial of Sculptra per decade. Dr. Cho charges $800 per vial. There were less expensive providers in my area. However, based upon Dr. Cho's reviews, I chose to pay the higher fee and drive 45 miles away from my home. I was clear in my initial visit that I wanted to add volume and only wanted four vials, if possible for monetary reasons. In the course of treatment, there were issues with symmetry that I identified. I was told that faces were asymmetrical. However, from research I knew that one of the benefits of filler was to correct problems with asymmetry. Immediately following my last injection (vials 4 and 5), I knew there was a puckering on the right side of my mouth that didn't exist prior to treatment. I brought to the nurses attention before I left the office. I was told that it would go away when the swelling reduced. When I went back for my follow up visit, I was totally unhappy with the lack of symmetry that hadn't existed before I started treatment, new problems on the right side of my face, and the lack of overall improvement I expected from a $4,000.00 investment. Honestly, if new problems hadn't been created, I probably would have been satisfied. Dr. Cho was extremely nice in my last consultation. However, in response to my issues, he suggest Voluma at an additional cost and stated that it would very easily add volume to the areas where it was needed. ????? I just spent $4,000 and now I needed to spend additional $ to get what I'd ask for in beginning. I can add before and after photos. In short, I see improvement, but I also see problems that didn't exist prior. Overall, Sculptra was not worth the money. It would have been worth it if I'd gone with one of the less expensive providers and if there weren't new problems that need correction. I would probably give him 2.5 stars instead of 2 because his office and staff were nice and professional. His injections did not leave any bruising.
