Although I considered myself a healthy person...

Although I considered myself a healthy person through diet, exercise and weight control the aging experience came upon me quickly after menopause. I was disheartened by my wrinkling neck and sagging jowls. I had tried fillers and was pleased with the results, but they were short lived. A good friend of mine that worked for a plastic surgeon in California suggested a neck lift. Never having considered plastic surgery my immediate reaction to that was, "I would never do something like that!", but of course the seed had been planted and I started to research 'Necklift' out of curiosity on any site available to me. It took a lot to make that initial call to the office for a consultation, but once I did I was put to ease. The office staff made me feel so comfortable and not at all narcissistic or vain about what I was pursuing.
I was surprised to learn at that first consultation how involved the surgery would be, left the office in a state of shock and in the months that followed until my surgery date went through my own anxiousness about the procedure, but once the date was set there was no backing out for me.
On the actual surgery date the operating room nurse and recovery room nurse were both kind and competent. The staff called the friend that accompanied me to my surgery every two hours to update her and Dr Williams called her when the procedure was complete to let her know how it went.
Although I had been well informed, the recovery from the surgery was a little more than I expected. There was greater pain and trauma to the body than I had realized I would experience. My turn around and road to recovery finally started about eight days post surgery. The second week out a little more back to normal and finally the third week bruising and swelling had decreased enough that I could resume more normal activities.

Sorry, my mistake. Don't know who that lady is.

Stay tuned for photos when I am completely healed. Six weeks out I still am fighting some swelling and discoloration to the neck. The compression garment is still my constant friend for now.

NL's can be trying especially not being able to turn your head. At 45 days I still have problems when trying to parallel park and moving head and neck. It gets better and better and now getting the sharp shooting pains that signal nerves are starting to heal. I still have that "dirty" look to neck, all the different slight colorings as it's healing. Had minimal bruising. Hang in there it will get better.
