Excellent from start to finish. Professional, kind and highly skilled. Dr. Williams and her office staff listen well, are empathetic and are genuinely concerned about a persons overall health and well being. Every step of my procedure was perfect! Would highly recommend.
Dr. Williams has changed my life. After 3 c-sections and a 60lb weight loss, my abs were separated and my abdomen skin was hanging down causing me physical and emotional pain. Dr. Williams and her staff were amazing from the consultation to the surgery to the follow ups, and beyond. I felt safe, respected, and valued as her patient. After all was said and done, Dr. Williams repaired my diastasis recti and removed 10lbs of skin and tissue from my abdomen. For the first time in 25 years I have confidence about my body and I love who I see in the mirror. Thank you Dr. Williams and staff for all of your gentle and thorough care. PS My new belly button is AMAZING!! I can't stop showing it off. Dr. Williams is the queen of beautiful belly buttons!
Dr. Williams is absolutely the best. As soon as I had my consultation with her, I knew that she was the surgeon for me. She’s caring, empathetic, and compassionate while also being professional, knowledgeable, and a top notch surgeon. She really seems to care about her patients on a personal level. She’s done my breast reduction and DIEP reconstruction and I’ve been so impressed by Dr. Williams both times. I never thought that a preventive mastectomy & reconstruction would make me feel more confident and happy in my body than I have in years! I loved Dr Williams so much that I was raving about her to all of the recovery nurses after my surgery!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. My team of oncologists and Dr. Williams gave me many options and I decided on a double mastectomy with expanders to have reconstruction at a later date. Dr. Williams was compassionate as I went through the emotions of cancer and the anxiety of a major surgery. She was very thorough about my procedures and any questions I had. Now that I am two years out since my reconstruction, I am eager to tell everyone that Dr. Williams is the doctor to see. She is truly an artist!
After losing 70 pounds 10 years ago I had extra skin the wasn't going anywhere. I had 4 consultations in my town and after meeting Emily my decision was easy. Her bedside manner was so comforting. She has a beautiful approach to surgery and is not an aggressive surgeon. The entire staff at Plastic surgery northwest is staying. I'm very happy with my results. I was very nervous about my breast augmentation going into it. I always knew it was something I wanted but when it came down to it, I was nervous things weren't going to turn out how I wanted. Dr. Williams, as well as the rest of the staff was so comforting and helpful and answered all of my questions I had. I am so so happy I finally made the decision to have my augmentation done, I feel I can be more myself now.
I lost right around 100 lbs close to ten years ago, and unfortunately I was left with a lot of excess skin and droopy breast. I originally went to Dr. Williams shortly after losing the weight. I had a consultation and was happy with her recommendations, some of which were things I knew I wanted, others were things she recommended because she's skilled at what she does, and knows what will give the bet overall results, like extending the tummy tuck to remove extra skin on the side area as well. Something I didn't even know was possible at the time. I however did not get surgery back then. I waited close to 9 years before deciding to go back for another consultation because I was extremely scared to go through with the surgery and had to work up the courage to do it. I was happy to find out that since I had paid a consultation fee so many years prior that they were not going to make me pay another one. It was something I would have done gladly, as all the other plastic surgeons in the area required one, but it was nice to know they still had documentation from a visit so long ago, and didn't require another one. (It was also deducted from the surgery costs once I went through with it) My second consultation went just as good as the first. She recommended almost all the same procedures she did in the original consultation, (a breast lift, extended tummy tuck, and lipo to the flanks and thighs). There was only one procedure she originally recommended that she advised against in my second consultation, because it has now been proven to have a high chance of causing clots in the lungs. It's a procedure that some plastic surgeons still do, but I so very much appreciated her keeping my safety the number one priority, and keeping up to date with the latest research. Before and after surgery her staff was nothing but top notch. They gave me medication to calm my anxiety before surgery, and after surgery, (I chose to stay one night in her facility) the staff was nothing but attentive, gave me a bell to ring when I needed assistance, but I never once used it because every time I woke up or moved a little someone was there to help me feel comfortable. The results were life changing. Prior to surgery I would not even walk around my house without a bra on because I was so self conscious about how droopy my breast were. I rarely wore jeans, and when I did they were extremely uncomfortable because I had to wear them extremely tight to hide the extra skin I had on my abdomen. I don't have to do any of those things anymore. The incision lines were clean, the breasts are back up to where they should be, and my stomach doesn't have any extra skin. Dr. Williams is kind and compassionate and eased all the concerns I had (which were a lot because I have suffered from severe anxiety since childhood), and her work is nothing short of amazing. She is a true expert and artist in her trade, and I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff!!!
I’m excited to have my TT scheduled for the end of Jan 2018. After four consultations with plastic surgeons I feel so excited to have my surgery scheduled. My consultation with Dr Emily Williams was awesome. She was so thorough and answered all my questions and made me feel so comfortable. Her staff was amazing too. I’m excited and nervous but I know I’ll be in good hands. Updated on 30 Jan 2018: Updated on 30 Jan 2018: Updated on 3 Feb 2018: Although I’m still swollen, I already love my results. I wish I would have done this 10 years ago. Updated on 15 Feb 2018: Two and a half weeks post op. My tt surgery was not as painful as I expected. I suspect part of that is because Dr Willams uses Experel a long lasting anesthetic after. Really seemed to help. I still feel tight and have a fair amount of discomfort here and there. I’m a little concerned that my lateral thigh area ( saddle bag) seems to becoming back and I have a slightly indented area on my left hip ( no lipo done here) I’m hoping it’s just swelling.
Dr. Emily Williams is amazing! She performed my breast lift with implant replacement, along with inner thigh and knee liposuction. The results far exceeded my expectations! After numerous consultations to discuss implant size and concerns I had with the breast lift and liposuction, I cannot express how pleased I am with the results and how wonderful Dr. Williams was in answering ALL of my MANY questions. I am 8 weeks post-op and cannot believe how little scarring I have from the breast lift. Due to the experience I had with Dr. Williams, I plan to see her at the end of the year for a tummy tuck. Dr. Williams is an amazing plastic surgeon and I cannot thank her enough for my results!
I was 29 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The last 7 months of my life have been a whirlwind and Dr. Williams has been a saving grace throughout my journey. She was always positive and such a light in a dark place. From my spacer placement after my double mastectomy, to my last reconstructive surgery last week I was never nervous because of her calming nature. My new breasts are absolutely amazing. Dr. Williams made one of the scariest times in my life not so scary with her knowledge and kindness.
It is unfortunately common for piercings to become stretched over time. This can be corrected by removing the scar tissue that forms the piercing and closing the hole with stitches. For the best results, we typically recommend allowing the site to fully heal before repiercing. This procedure is most commonly performed under local anesthesia.
Liposuction is focused on removing fat from pockets of excess. It is most successful when these areas are limited and prominent, such as saddlebags on the thighs or prominent flanks. Tummy tucks tighten loose skin and muscles. If your skin is loose, removing excess fat will only make the laxity more apparent. Although Smart Lipo is heavily promoted, its results can be heterogeneous with regard to skin tightening, resulting in some areas that are tight and others that are looser. This yields a cellulite-type appearance that is extremely difficult, if not impossible to correct. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will allow you to determine the pros and cons of different combinations of liposuction and skin tightening.
Tummy tucks are tailored to each individual, but often include repair of separated abdominal muscles and removal of a greater or lesser degree of loose skin. The amount of loose skin that needs to be removed depends on your specific anatomy. The more loose skin that you have to remove, the longer the scar to do so. A discussion between you and your board certified surgeon will determine how much extra skin you have, how aggressive you wish to be in removing this skin, and, thus, how long your scar will be.
DIEP surgery uses excess lower abdominal skin and fat to replace a breast removed through mastectomy with soft, warm tissue from your own body. This surgery is very complicated and requires a skilled and experienced surgeon at a center that also performs these surgeries frequently. Despite the complexity of the procedure, the vast majority of the time it is successful and results in a breast that feels and looks very natural. After reconstruction is complete, your breast will continue to change with you over time, mimicing the changes of a natural breast with changes in weight and with time.
Thankfully, Congress has supported women's right to pursue breast reconstruction by passing the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act in 1998 and, more recently, the Breast Cancer Patient Education Act. These acts ensure that all insurance companies cover breast reconstruction for women who have undergone mastectomies.
