I had my arm lift done in mid-December of 2014. I have never regretted having the procedure. My arms are normal size (Right arm-11 inches and Left arm 11.5 inches). My scare are light and barely noticeable.

That's amazing. Did your TT scars heal as well as your arms? I am wondering if your skin is super healthy or if you used any products to help aid the healing?

My tummy tuck scars healed well and are light as well. The only product I use faithfully is Great Lakes Collagen Hydrosolate powder. It dissolves in liquid and is flavorless. I put two tablespoons in my coffee each day. It is sold on Amazon and had great reviews. I believe it helped me heal and keeps my skin healthy.

You have healed beautifully! I am going on three week on arm lift, replaced breast implants and bra line lift. Feel great loving my results . Looking forward to scars fading. You give me hope . Thank you

What a great job. You'd have to be really trying to find those scars to see them. Very cool. You look great. Congrats on the weightloss by the way. Take care

1 Year Post-Op Today

One year ago today, I had my arm lift. I have been extremely happy with the results and have never regretted my decision to have this surgery. I continue to work on toning my arms through weight training. I wore sleeveless tops all summer, but was careful to apply sunscreen often to my arms. My scars have been a small trade-off for normal looking arms.

Thank you. It took a full year for my scars to fade, so it does take some patience. But over a year later, my scars are hardly noticeable.

You have a beautiful outcome.

Hi. Your results look outstanding. Did your PS put the scar on the bottom of the arm? Or was it in the back? Can a person see the scar if they are standing behind you? Thank you for answering my question. I'm planning on getting an arm lift, but the scars scare me. I'm still trying to figure out the trade off for well toned arms vs.visible scar.

My scars are at the bottom of my arms, not in the back. When my arms are by my side, about 1 inch of my scar shows near my elbow from the back. My scars really don't bother me. I like the placement and feel the trade-off of having the scars is worth it. I am confident they will be barely noticeable as time goes by. My arms were in pretty bad shape prior to the armlift and no amount of weightlifting would have corrected the cellulite and hanging skin. I struggled with my decision to go through with the surgery because I was so nervous about the outcome. I almost canceled my surgery twice. I'm really happy that I went through with it:)

T hank you for sharing. I'm currently in the same struggle mode. my arms don't look too bad, but that loose skin at the bottom of my arms (tricep area) really bothers me. My surgeon stressed that I would have to trade the tight/toned arms for the scar. He said he couldn't guarantee a thin line scar as everyone heals differently. But after reading about your journey, I am hopful I can look forward to similar results. How long did you take off of work? Is the mederma & scar treatment working to give you even better results on your arms? Thank you so much for responding. Your arms look amazing!:)

I am a teacher, so I had my surgery done at the beginning of my Christmas break. I had two weeks off to heal and recover. That was plenty of time for me. I think if you don't have a job that requires heavy lifting, a week or 10 days off is all you need. There's mixed information about the effectiveness of scar creams and silicone tape. I found the tape too difficult to use, so I went with my ps recommendation of Merderma and Eucerin cream. I don't know if my scars are healing better because of it, but it seems like most surgeons recommend using something to assist in healing. Arm lifts are tricky because it seems like the results depend so much on the surgeon's skill and the patient's healing ability. I thought about it long and hard before I went through with it. I made a good decision for me, but everyone is different.

Hi! Your arms look great. I'm seriously considering having either this procedure or smart lipo. I'm quite physically active and just wondering about your down time before getting back to the gym and doing anything involving arms?

I went back to my water aerobics class at 3 weeks. I was back to weight training with my arms and my boot camp workouts by 6 weeks.

Thank you! Our 'before' arms are very similar and I'm tempted to try lipo alone as any improvement at all would satisfy me, but maybe I should bite the bullet and go for the brachioplasty instead. Like you I've lost over 60lbs and I'm doing everything I can but it's just stubborn fat. It makes my whole chest area look huge and it's so hard to get long sleeve clothes that fit my torso AND my humungous arms!

It's a big decision. Maybe get a few opinions by board certified plastic surgeons to see if your skin will shrink back to normal after the Lipo. My skin was too stretched out to shrink back, so the armlift was the right procedure for me.

Thank you for your input smilingtlee! I've spoken to a PS now and I've got pretty good skin thankfully he thinks the lipo will do! I might post my progress on here.

I agree . I think the trade off is worth it. You look especially good too!

Wow, you healed like a dream! I’m guessing a good doc and good genes and healthy habits helped. I’m in a similar state, lol, and want to have surgery next fall. Thank you so much for providing all the excellent pix and info.
