Am 49, married for nearly 31 yrs with 2 grown up boys (27 & 29). Have always had big boobs- 36C at 11 yrs old was no fun I can tell you! Was a 38 HH/JJ before & once things have settled down hopefully abt 38 D/DD.
Decided to take the plunge due to some weight loss, major back pain, along with all the discomfort that big boobs brings - sure all of u know abt that!
Op went great, according to Consultant & others involved. Took just over 1kg from each so a big job.
Felt absolutely euphoric in hospital when saw them- even shed a few tears- such a weight (literally) removed from my body/mind. Really pleased with Consultant - Mr Alastair Platt- before and post op. Very attentive & listened to me, discussed size etc and checked on me himself quite a few times before went home from hospital.
However, at the mo, NOT impressed with service from Breast Specialist Nurse, despite telling me post op would make sure saw me or at least spoke to me before leaving hospital not a sign of her & no other Specialist nurses in! Thank god for 2 angels on the ward- Lisa & Jo- who were above fantastic! Have 1 wk review with Breast Nurse tom, so interested in what she will have to say.
Have & am struggling yesterday & today with emotions, feel like have hit a brick walk & no energy - making myself post this to get some advice as only have hubby to talk to abt this (haven't told anyone else). He's been super supportive though.
Any advice/comments from any of u after reading this & looking at photos would be good x Can't add photos at mo, will try later x

Welcome to the community and thank you for sharing with us.  I can tell you that you will be pretty tired and wiped out for the first 4-6 weeks.  Not that you feel bad, but you will be zapped from energy.  This is a part of the recovery process and normal.  Just try to get out and get some sunshine and take it easy for a while.  Your body has just been through a major surgery and needs recovery time.  Go easy on yourself and baby yourself for a while.

Thank you for joining us.

Hi, there's certainly more emotional ups & downs than I expected but keep reminding myself it's part of the healing process.
Posting on here helps a lot, being able to be in touch with people going through the same thing is making a massive difference. Glad your dressing change went ok & hope you have a good nights sleep tonight

I'm lucky, no drains so that's one thing less to contend with. You're right though it is worth it & the difference it will make once we heal totally will be fantastic x

No leaking from wounds & bruising going as expected. So pleased with the result & as things settle hoping it gets even better.

I had my procedure*surgery on August 16th, too. 36M to ??? Not certain yet because I am wearing post op bras ENELL which sizing is unique to brand. Congratulations and keep healing and health and well-being on the outstanding side of it all! (Seattle, WA, USA)

Thanks. After lots of looking around on the internet I bought a Macom bra to add to the 2 po bras the clinic gave me. The support from it is tremendous & as my 'new' boobs are very sensitive really helps when I walk. Swelling still needs to settle but wish I'd done this years ago. Hope your recovery goes well too xx

Hello hope your ok I bought a white and black one came Monday loving them wear the one I sent u details on for bed at nightime mine are so sensative this week my skin is so dry are u useing any creams as not sure what to use xx

Hi, mine are getting a bit less sensitive, think it's a combination of compression from the Macom& massaging the creams in. Bra has also helped the scarring that was really lumpy. I massage my boobs/scars in a morning with Aloe Vera & then do the same with Arnica cream before bedtime. Seems to have helped with everything - bruising, soreness & swelling. They were a bit dry but once started using both creams are great. Def worth trying & neither of them are dear- got mine from Holland & Barrett. Think I'll be investing in another Macom too- they are a bit dearer but haven't come this far to spoil shape/results by not having support wear I'm comfortable in. Hope above helps xx
Have a good weekend
